Which pram / travel system?

My parents have kindly offered to buy our pram and after a few months of window shopping and testing all prams under the sun we have narrowed it down to two.

The icandy peach 3
Or
Cybex Priam with 2 in 1 seat

We have already been given a maxi cosi car seat which will work with both

Price seems to be comparable depending on where it's purchased from

At the moment the cybex is slightly heavier but we don't need an addition carrycot with it which it's a plus point.

What would you choose?

We have the icandy peach and I'm really pleased with it so far. The man reason we chose it over some of the others is that it can convert to a tandem and we plan to have more than 1 child. Perhaps just something to consider when you're weighing it up!

I was going to go for i candy but then i saw the uppa baby cruz and decided to go for that because it's lighter and the baby is much higher up/closer in the car seat/pram (it comes with maxi cosi adapters) to you. If you are dead set on those 2 i would go i candy x

We have the uppababy vista and I love it :) My Sister has the Icandy Peach and she loves that too!

We have icandy peach. Really like it, easy to fold down and not too heavy. Converts to a tandem if needed, easy to push and good basket space.

Ds1 had a uppa baby vista - loved it, smooth and easy to push, huge basket. But the older version so couldn't convert when ds2 came along so got a I candy peach with the tandem seats. Very easy to push, and sturdy, basket slightly smaller.

Ds1 stopped wanting to use a pushchair at about 2 years 3 months

I had iCandy and would caution you to check two things in the design

First that the front wheels are free wheeling, mine had plastic arches very close to the wheel which housed the suspension and at the slightest sign of leaves, mud or grass would get jammed up with debris. The number of times I was out and had to stop to find sticks and try to clear out used to drive me mad.

Second, make sure the handles are plastic not foam. My first baby never bothered but my second chewed through all the foam on the main bar as soon as I converted from carrycot to forward facing. Means it's now very difficult to sell on as enormous chunks have been taken out of it!

Just to add another angle...my sister has the Bugaboo Chameleon which is amazing, I do love it!

While I almost went with that i was looking around for others and for a little less £s and with their bundle offer we got the new Mamas & Papas Ocarro. The ease of pushing it is very close to the Bugaboo (so no mud guard as above issue explained and tyre type wheels) and we got the six piece bundle so pram with bassinet, Cybex car seat, IsoFix base, adjusters and (very importantly!) cup holder. Mamas and Papas also have an extra 10% off everything at the moment too so do look there to order your bits!

Love my icandy peach. Got it for dd1 4.5 years ago used a a tandem for dd1 and dd2 and still used daily (when spd let's me)! Looking forward to getting the carrycot back out for dc 3 in a few months.

Another one here who loved the icandy peach and was set on that but then ended up with Uppababy Vista! Baby not born yet so can't say much about how it is in use but is seemed brilliant - so intuitive to put up and down etc, good wheels, massive basket, didn't need the risers like the Peach to have baby closer up to you

We too had our heart set on an iCandy peach but then tried out the Uppababy Vista and loved it! You don't need loads of expensive add ons with it, it doubles up to a twin if you have another and has a huge shopping basket The peach is lovely too though, can't say I saw the other make anywhere.

I'm not familiar with the two on your list but wanted to recommend both the Bugaboo Cameleon and Uppababy Vista.

I have the Cameleon and can't recommend it highly enough! However it has a small basket.

Friends have the Vista and love it! Huge basket too!

Sarahooh, if you don't mind me asking, when did your occarro arrive? We ordered mid December and have had delivery delayed from last week to second week of Feb which is getting me a bit nervous!

I love my Uppababy Cruz. Have you tried any of the Uppababy prams? The bassinates are suitable for overnight sleeping so they can be used as a Moses basket. This is great for when they are asleep after a walk.

Looked further into the cybex and apparently the car seat adaptors don't work with maxi cosi.

The 2 in 1 seat that converts to carrycot also isn't suitable from birth.

So I think that's off the list,

I appreciate you're having a maxi cost but you do know that babies less than 3 months are not supposed to spend more than 30 minutes in a car seat at a time don't you?

Yes, but for short trips out I don't want to have to lift baby out into a carrycot each time.
Plus the advise of 30 mins is only for newborns and from 6 months on that advise doesn't apply

Just checking. The number of newborns and tinies left in car seats for hours on end is awful. I opted for a fixed car seat and a sling
because I didn't want to be tempted with a removable (they're also insanely heavy and I have a dodgy back anyway)... Once you get into the swing of putting baby in the seat in the car it's easy. Especially when the seat rotates to face the open car door so there's no awkward angles
