Olbas oil in pregnancy

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant and have a never ending cold. I've just finished a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection but I'm still full of a head cold and a horrendous cough. Does anyone know whether olbas oil is safe to steam inhale in pregnancy? On the box it just says not to take any non essential medications during pregnancy. I've tried googling it but get a mixed bag of answers!

I have personally used it with a steamer and also in the bath. Not had any problems x

I used it, didn't manage to come up with a conclusive answer on line though. I did read something about the menthol in it effecting liver development in the baby (could have been kidney actually) so I used it sparingly.

I have had a heavy cold too and when I asked the chemist they gave me menthol crystals to try. Just put a few in a large bowl filled with warm water and steam with a towel over your head! Good luck and I hope you feel better soon xxx
