Can anyone give me some insight. I've been for a reassurance scan today i should be 11 weeks 1 day. They said i have a tilted pelvis and I'm 7 weeks 5 days. I don't understand this as i had a positive pregnancy test 7 and a half weeks ago it really doesn't match with my dates. I even had implantation bleeding two days before i tested. Help I'm so worried my baby isn't developing properly midwife doesn't care because I'm not bleeding. Thanks for reading.

Hey! Are you 11 weeks from LMP or conception?

With that you could be 2 weeks behind in real weeks. I.e. 9 weeks.

The difference between 7.5 and 9 weeks is 1cm, that's not a lot and baby might catch up still. I really wouldn't worry. If heartbeat is nice and strong that's a good indication if baby is ok.

For comparison. I'm 8 weeks pregnant by LMP but baby is only measuring 5 weeks.

It's from my lmp but its 3 and half weeks different to what they said today. I'm just so worried. on my first pregnancy i was a couple of days out but not 3 and half weeks. :(

Baby had a heartbeat but she said that slow movement is the heartbeat. She then said everything seems alright at the moment but couldn't say it would be alright.

I have a tilted uterus and also measured behind at this stage of my last pregnancy. Dates had caught up by the 20 week point though

Try not to worry

I was 100% on my dates too as we only dtd once that month Blush

DSis had something similar. Her dating scan put her back 3 weeks meaning she got a +ve HPT before conception Hmm

DNephew turned up v close to his "due date", but we (& midwife) think he was quite overdue!

He's 6 now!

I think growth rates aren't always so standard in early pregnancy.

Hope all goes well with you, OP.

Although a tilted uterus can make it harder to get a good image on an early scan, and it can look like the embryo is smaller than it should be, that does sound like a big difference on dates if you are sure of yours.

I have a tilted uterus, and was 100% on my dates, so when I was told that I was measuring 5-6 weeks when I should have been 8.5 week I knew that something was up. I had three more scans over the next fortnight and eventually the hb stopped and the embryo started to shrink.

I hope that you have better news, but I would hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. The miscarriage/pregnancy loss topic in Body and Soul has some really helpful threads, I found a lot of support there from lots of other women going through similar things. It sucks, and the toughest bit is the 'waiting and seeing'. Flowers

I had my positive pregnancy test 7 weeks and 3 days ago so i would apparently be 7 weeks 6 days today from what the scan said. I know it's not possible as i wouldn't of had a positive test if i was that early. My gut instinct is telling me something was wrong that's why i went. Unfortunately i am expecting the worst but i do hope for the best. Thanks for your reply.

Fluff try not to worry. When do you have your 12 weeks scan booked? This might give you more answers.

And unfortunately the midwife won't say "oh yes everything will be fine" at any point in your pregnancy.

Although Greedy now you've got me thinking. I know from conception the 5-6 week sizing is correct for me but the LMP is obviously 2 weeks more than that. Do they date from conception with actual measurements and then add 2 weeks or just give you an actual size. The dr at my scan was very happy with the results. And at the time I just was so happy to see a heartbeat. I'm hoping for a big jump in 2 weeks.

Try not to worry. With my first dc I was told I was 3 weeks behind at my 12 week scan. They assumed I got my dates wrong but I know they were correct, and I couldn't see how it could actually be possible as 3 weeks diff would mean I wouldn't have been pg when I got my +result going by standard calculations.

Whatever the reason I ended up with a healthy DD at the end of the pregnancy.

They've bumped me forward to next Tuesday but its so far away. I'm trying not to worry but it's such a big difference i expected a few days difference as had that with my daughter. Just wanted to see if other people had such a big gap and everything turned out ok. Didn't have a tilted uterus with my last pregnancy either.
