Decongestants

Does anyone know of any safe decongestants to use during pregnancy?

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and have what I think is a sinus infection. I have had them before and know the symptoms. I usually take something like sudafed or something like that but I'm not sure how safe they are in pregnancy.

My head is absolutely throbbing, especially when i bend down along with facial pain and earache in one side. Paracetamol is doing nothing at all to help so am looking for something to help cope.

I can't get to a doctors until next week

I don't think there is any medicine. Can you try steam or some sort of sinus flushing?

Ouch, I had this. Paracetamol just doesn't sort it.

You can't take the usual sudafed or anything, so you will need antibiotics. Can your GP prescribe over the phone?

Hope you feel better soon

Salt water nasal spray can help, or a dollop of vaporub in a bowl of steaming hot water then hold your head over it with a towel covering your head & the bowl. Olbas oil drops on your pillow, etc...

Please double check with the information leaflets inside these products before using them, I haven't been pregnant recently and things may have changed/I may have forgotten!
