Hi, I have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows if you have to or how much you have to pay in Scotland for the pictures?

ColourfulOrangex Tue 17-Jan-17 10:08:32

I'm not sure what it would be in Scotland but when I received my date for my 12 week scan it had the cost on there...you could always right the hospital and ask if you are unsure smile

Shainamarpia Tue 17-Jan-17 10:25:16

Thanks smile I've not received a letter yet. My midwife told me when I was in the phone to her so I'll wait until I receive my letter and see smile

Bloopbleep Tue 17-Jan-17 10:27:24

I didn't pay anything in Glasgow but there was a box for donations which was fairly empty.

Bloopbleep Tue 17-Jan-17 10:28:05

Should've said didn't have to pay anything, we left a donation

raviolidreaming Tue 17-Jan-17 10:50:34

Also in Glasgow, and asked for a donation.

Shainamarpia Tue 17-Jan-17 11:15:07

Thanks ladies. As it happens I've just received my letter through the post like 5 mins ago haha. It says that I'll get 3 and can leave a donation smile I've heard some right horrors about people having to pay up to £10 for one photo in England shock

LemonyFresh Tue 17-Jan-17 11:17:14

In the south of England it cost £10 for 3. We could pay by card though. Maybe take a bit of change just in case, or ask on a local baby group on Facebook or similar.

paid £2 per print in Cheshire. All info on letter though and they outlined what they use it for- basically getting better scanners etc.
Got one for me and one for my mum as it's her first grandchild. Of course, it looks like a small alien and every other scan, ever, but it's my small alien!

GinIsIn Tue 17-Jan-17 12:10:17

£5 for 3 pics, central london

harleysmammy Tue 17-Jan-17 18:40:54

£3 for 3 photos in Wales. We paid £3 for both 12 week and 20 week scans and got 10 photos on each scan

vfoster Tue 17-Jan-17 22:14:31

I'm in Cheshire and we had to put £6 in a machine and got a little ticket. It said we would get 2 pictures for that but we got about 5!

Acorncat Tue 17-Jan-17 22:53:57

There's signs up saying that they'd like a donation but then just give you the photos without mentioning it so I haven't paid for any of mine. Too distracted by the scan!

katonic Tue 17-Jan-17 23:26:18

It was £4 for 1 picture at mine, outer London! Feels like daylight robbery! And the sonographer managed to crease it up when he put it in the folder....

cornflakes91 Wed 18-Jan-17 05:27:02

£4 per picture, Notts!

catx1606 Wed 18-Jan-17 13:17:53

£5 per picture in chelmsford, best to ring up first and check

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 18-Jan-17 17:24:32

Also south (kent) and pics are free. Tho does say donation box at reception

NorfolkEnchance Wed 18-Jan-17 17:26:16

I was one of the horrors! £10 for ONE picture in Coventry.

gincamelbak Wed 18-Jan-17 17:29:57

£1 per photo in Perth. Although it ended up being £1 for half a dozen each time because the administration person thought it was a rip off as not all the scan shots were "good" by her opinion.

drinkyourmilk Wed 18-Jan-17 17:57:50

Was free in West Sussex, and no donation box that I could see.

sailorcherries Thu 19-Jan-17 21:44:18

Free in Glasgow (PRM) and there wasn't a donation box to be seen.

ConvincingLiar Thu 19-Jan-17 21:51:11

£3 in Wales, coins required.

Scotmum83 Thu 19-Jan-17 22:04:53

Free in Aberdeen.

elliejjtiny Fri 20-Jan-17 01:04:50

I had to pay £6.50 for 1 photo or £10 for 2 with DS5. With DS4 I had to pay for the 12 week scan but at the 20 week scan they discovered he had a cleft lip so all scan photos were free after that. DS4 is 3 now and I'm still not sure whether to be grateful or offended!
