I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant and since about 13 weeks when I've woken up in the morning I can feel a hard lump on the left side of my abdomen, I'm just wondering if this is the baby I'm feeling, once I get up out of bed it disspears and won't show again till the next morning. Is it possible that this is my baby? This is my first pregnancy btw so I don't know what's normal and what isn't. Thank u smile

First baby

Congratulations. At this stage it definitely won't be the baby you're feeling. The baby is still teeny with masses of room to swim about in and your womb is still quite low into your pelvis area and as such tucked behind a lot still at this stage the only thing you potentially will start to feel is early movements such as internal gentle bumps when baby has hiccups (feels like you have mild wind in your tummy) but even then that would be early for a first baby.

It's exciting though isn't it and lots of amazing times to come grin

Haha my phone didn't register the full stop I typed so I've written the world's longest sentence above!

What could it be do you think? And yes so very exciting I can't wait!

It's likely to be your bladder. It will be full in the morning, and displaced by your uterus as your uterus is just above the pubic bone now. You will be able to feel a hard lump centrally soon, depending on your size. That will be your uterus, which baby is inside. You won't be able to feel the baby by touching the abdominal wall for a little longer yet. HTH!

Oooh, I see. Still exciting knowing that baby is in there though. Sorry I'm new here and not good with these abbreviations. I'm assuming HTH means happy to help?
