i Everyone,

First post ever! Hoping you can help put my mind at rest. I'm ridiculously anxious. So i am 9 weeks today and this is my second pregnancy. My first daughter is now 12 years old and was born with a rare chromosome disorder. that affects 1 in 50,000. She is perfect and thriving with support. My blood and her dads (my now ex) and we were both given the all clear of carrying any type of chromosome disorder/translocation/defect. Therefore they confirmed my daughters chromosome disorder was 'de novo' i.e just one of those things. They stated that if i was to have more children i had no higher risk than anyone else of having another child with her chromosome disorder or any others. However this doesn't stop me worrying. Me and my now partner have decided to pay private for the Panorama DNA test, as although this doesnt test for my daughters chromosome disorder, it does give accurate early results for many others. We will then make the decision whether to progress to a CVS. I had the blood drawn today and i live in the uk so i have a tense 7-10 day wait. My questions are....

Has anyone else had the Panorama test?
How did you cope with the wait?
How long did the results take (uk based people)
Has anyone has a child with a chromosome disorder and gone on to have a healthy child?

Sending love and best wishes to you all and thanks in advance

XXXXX

Not sure I can help with much but I had the harmony test last week, and I know they can test for specific chromosome disorders if needed, ie with a family history. My friends took a week to get the results, and the birth Company in London claims to do it in 3-5 days. I'm trying not to think about it too much, and I tell myself that nothing will change the outcome now and I've done the best thing for me which is to get the test so I have the information. No family history but I have anxiety and prefer to have as much information as I can.

Thinking of you and hope that the wait isn't too long Flowers

Thank you so much for your reply sparkleyuggs ! Wow 3-5seems quick my provider said 5 days from when they receive it so as it's got to get to USA the shipment will add on 2-3 days. Sounds like you will have good odds with no family history I have everything crossed for you. Great they now have these accurate nipt but a shame for me I know they defo don't test for my daughters disorder.
Thinking of you also let me know how you get on xxx

It depends if they send to you the USA or not. Apparently they are going to bring the tests into the NHS in the next few years, I think it will be good as there's less false positives and women getting high odds purely due to age.

Thinking of you too xx
