Hi ladies! Starting a new thread for those of us who have spent a while on the infertility board while going trough various treatments and are technically pregnant but too scared to join a pregnancy thread! Smile

I'm doing ok!
Currently suffering from man flu at the moment and sleeping a lot, passes the days anyway!
I have my booking in appt with the midwife next Thursday who will book my 12 week scan - that's all I have going on really.
How's things going with you? Cooking those twin Lolly's nicely I hope! 😊xx

Oh no - I had a horrible cold over Christmas, it was so annoying! Hope you feel better soon. Oh that's exciting! I've got my 12w scan on 24th although I'll be 13+3. I've got a scan today as well and the Serenity test - I've got scanxiety today and am nervous about the results too.
Then I know time is going to go sooo slow till the 24th!! xxx

Hi kez sounds like you're at a similar stage? I'm almost 9 weeks and have another private scan on Monday

Oh Lolly sorry to hear you've been suffering! Hope the scan went ok!

Hi blue hows things with you?

Bear hi 😊. Yes I'm 10+2 but couldn't get my booking in appt till Thursday 12th which makes me 11+1. Do you have your 12 week scan booked?

Report
Bear2014 · 06/01/2017 16:06

I've been too chicken to get into the system as I had a miscarriage last April at 10 weeks, after I had had my booking in appt which was obviously a big waste of time and pretty depressing. I actually think the booking in should be after the 12 week scan but hey ho. I self-referred today to Kings, so hopefully I'll hear back next week xx

Hi everyone, I'm just moving over from the Nov/Dec thread on the other board. Feels surreal to graduate from infertile to subfertile! Confused Im 7+2 and had viability scan yesterday which seemed to go well, although I forgot to ask the heart rate. Have been symptom-light so far, I suppose I am lucky but damn it makes it harder not to be worried!

Hope your scan went well Lolly & good luck for yours upcoming Kez & Bear. I need to get on with stuff like contacting the midwife and booking in for the NIPT test and a scan somewhere for 10 weeks x

Just had my scan - all looking fantastic apparently! Both babies measuring as they should and both exactly the same size now! They were moving around loads which she said is a great sign.
They also check my cervix each time (it was absolutely fine today) and today she said to ask the NHS to frequently check it to make sure it stays as it should. She said if they won't it's worth coming back so they can check it and if it starts to shorten they can put a stitch in - Blue me think of you. How are you getting on with that?

Brilliant news Lolly! So you're about 11 weeks now? Sounds pretty solid to me. Hooray!! xx

That's good that you've had a positive scan too Mscrabtree! My fetal HR was on my written report that they gave me but I generally find having info like that dangerous as I take to Google and freak myself out.

Welcome MrsCrab! Congrats on joining the subfertile and also on a great viability scan! They told me the heart rate on mine but I agree with Bear that I don't think it makes a difference knowing. They would have said if there were any issues so I wouldn't worry at all.

Bear yep I am 11 weeks tomorrow. Still waiting till my NHS to relax but def feeling better. Even ordered a pregnancy book today! Have to go back next Friday for bloods to start wheening off all the drugs. Apart from cyclogest which I'll have to stay on 2 a day until 37 weeks xxx

Bear2014 · 06/01/2017 17:01

Ugh no way - Cyclogest all the way through! That's harsh. It will all be worth it though!

Plenty of people have their 12 week scan at 11 weeks. I think with every week that goes past your risks just plummet - by 11 it's very low xx

Lolly2803 · 06/01/2017 17:24

The dr did say risk of miscarriage was low when she checked everything but I can't help but worry still! Yep but I'm on 4 a day now so I think 2 will be easy. I will be so glad when I can stop the injections!!

You getting excited for Monday Bear? What time is it? zx

Thanks lolly and bear - I was going to call the clinic to ask but I decided not to, you're right I would only worry myself and it wouldn't change whatever outcome is coming.

Lolly that's great you're feeling slightly more relaxed (even tho you've got to keep on with the cyclogest). I looked back at your first post about us being "technically pregnant, but..." and it made me smile because it's exactly how I feel! "Well, I suppose I'm Technically Pregnant, but not properly/really/fingers crossed..." Hope I/we will feel it's true one day soon Smile

Me too Mrs Crab! I still feel a bit like a fake! I keep saying to my DH that we need to start enjoying it soon as it could be our only pregnancy. But easier said than done!!

Yes honestly I really wouldn't worry about HR. I really think they would have said or asked you to come back in a week if they were worried. When is your next scan / check?

The nerves for my test results have already started!! Xxx

I've been discharged from my clinic back to routine antenatal care so technically it would be the 12 week scan, but I definitely can't wait that long! Ideally I'd have another scan at 9 weeks but am thinking of getting the NIPT which can only be done at 10 weeks and you can get a scan with it so I might have to wait til then. 3 more weeks feels so long though...

Report
Lolly2803 · 07/01/2017 10:19

I know what you mean! I had a scan at 9 weeks as I wanted to see them before Christmas! Then we had the NIPT yesterday at 10+6. Not seeing them now till 13+3 at my NHS scan....I know time is going to stand still!
Haven't been discharged as am starting wheening off the drugs from next sat so clinic will monitor my bloods till I'm off those. Then if the NHS don't check my cervix I think I'll go back to the clinic for a check to make sure everything there looks ok.
It never ends!!!

Lolly - yes I'm sure you'll be fine now. You hear of people having miscarriages at 11 weeks but the vast majority of them actually lost the baby way earlier and just didn't know about it.

Mrscrab - yes it feels like an eternity. There was no way I was going to be able to wait until 10 weeks for another scan.

Sadly I am much more terrified than excited about Monday's scan. The reason I'm having it is that our last one stopped growing at 8 weeks and we didn't know about it until 10 weeks when I started spotting. If it's happened again, I need to know and get the surgery done ASAP. Last time, I was with my 2 year old when I started bleeding and ended up being whisked away in an ambulance and staying in hospital overnight. Knowledge is power and I don't want to put her (or me!) through that again.

If all is well though I will relax a lot more and it would be a massive weight off! I can't stop thinking about everything and it's making me crazy xx

Aw Bear I had no idea how it happened last time. That's awful! Argh I'm so sorry. I can totally understand the nerves and anxiety but hopefully Monday can put your mind at rest and relieve some of your worries. I am feeling really positive for you. I am keeping everything crossed! What time are you in on Monday? xxx

Yeah it wasn't great - I've totally made my peace with the fact that the baby wasn't meant to be etc but what transpired could have been avoided. And we're very much in that 'danger zone' period of time still. It's a short time though, so it will be over one way or another very soon! xx

That's really scary Bear. I'm sure you'll be terrified on Monday but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope these next two days go quickly for you. You're also making me more sure I want another scan! My husband is going to be away in our 9th week tho so I think I'll have to go on my own Hmm do you think that's ok?
