Sex during pregnancy 🤔

So I just tried to DTD with my OH but he was a little freaked out about the whole thing.. Is this common? He said he doesn't want to hurt the baby!! I understand what he means as I was a little unsure as well but I've read that it's very safe to DTD whilst pregnant X

I was rampant during pg and I think we must've done it every day! DH found me sexier than ever. Each to their own and everything though.

He can't hurt the baby OP.

He can't hurt the baby but I don't think it's unusual for blokes to feel like that.

Now I'm in middle trimester and off my antidepressants I think DH is feeling a little harassed as I'm quite erm keen...

He can't reach the baby with his penis if that's what he's worried about but you may find positions other than missionary (if that's what you tend to do) more comfortable as your bump grows.

Yeah me to big I seem to want it more!
Egg- I think he knows it's safe to DTD but he's got something into his head!!

It's not about him being able to reach the baby but i think he's worried he may hurt me as well.. He said he wouldn't do missionary 100% as he's a big guy and Defo doesn't want to leen on my bump X

Oh god no thanks! I am only 10w and I can't think of anything worse. It just feels so wrong!

We have never had particularly high libidos, and have both kind of agreed that it is OK if it doesn't happen while I am pregnant.

missmoo I'm only 5 weeks so really early days! I didn't mean to write bump in earlier post I meant to write Tummy... Even tho I have small little bump already( think it's more bloat tho )

Libby yeah I can see it going down that road to be honest! And that's ok with me!! I was just very curious to see if it's a common thing X

I havent done anything with my other half because im more worried than he is haha, im 23 weeks and at my 16 week appointment my other half was a bit desperate for someone to drill into me that its absolutely fine, so he asked the midwife if we could carry on dtd. She said its absolutely fine as long as its comfortable, not too rough and there isnt any complications. She did say that the only thing you should do is use condoms but she said if you've been together a long time and you trust him, there's no real need to wear them, its just so any infections dont happen. I trust what i've read on here and what my midwife says so i dont think theres anything stopping us x

Eh? Why? Hmm

Bad luck ladies. Just back from the midwife (38 weeks) and have been ordered to have as much sex as I can manage to get things moving. Fine by me Grin

Thanks for the reassurance harleysmammy I'm Defo going to tell me OH that story!! I think maybe because it's so fresh it might change later on in my pregnancy :)

madhowdy I'm with you I can't see anything wrong with it but as long as you're not in pain I think that's the important thing... Good luck you're nearly there, do you know If you're having a boy or girl? X

Still happily shagging at 25+4 here Wink I would do your best to persuade him as pregnancy orgasms are the BEST!

I was really ill in the first trimester but after I got over that we've just had sex as per usual.

My DH has never been freaked out by it and is still as keen as ever. I agree he even seems extra keen.

I'm huge as well--34 weeks now still going strong. Your partner freaking out at 5 weeks does seem a bit unusual but all men are different.

Given you can't have sex post birth for a good while, taking a joint vow of abstinence for almost a year never occurred to me but to each their own!

Sorry what is this? lol I never have any sex drive when pregnant or breastfeeding unfortunately. But tell your DH that having sex whilst pregnant is like parking a car in the garage while there's someone in the house - ie; very very unlikely to come anywhere near the baby Grin

Maybe a floaty nightie later on to distract him from the bump?

Report
Amz26 · 05/01/2017 17:49

arbrighton- yes I thought it would be or maybe all that Xmas food 🙈

Madhowdy - aww lovely, good luck for the birth hope it's not too stressful

Cuppaqueen- I'll Defo have to try and persuade him then as I don't wanna be missing out on that 😉

Yeah I did think it was a little strange londongirltoo but we will give it another go haha

Niceglass- I hear a lot of women say they don't feel like sex at all and some women say they want it more.. Guess it's just down to the person.. Haha I'll Defo tell him that 😂
Ilovecaindingle- Defo a good idea! Might try it 😀

I think we have dtd twice. I'm 36 weeks. It just feels to uncomfortable now and before I wasn't in the mood.
