Pregnancy

Another false alarm??

Woken up this morning, about 6am with awful period pains. They were coming and going until about 8am when I decided to have a bath. Then the tightenings started.

Just had some mucus tinged with pink but contractions are vaguely easing now.

It's really painful to lie down but I'm perfectly comfortable lolling over my beanbag footstool on all fours.

Trying to stay chilled but feeling a little alone. I've sent dh to work until I know whether this is the real thing. He's only working on the next road over today which is handy.

Well if it's not the real thing it is a warm up!

I suggest plan for both - mentally tell yourself it's nothing, but get yourself fed and rested in case it is!

I hope it is, I love a live labour thread!

It sounds promising with the pink discharge!!! And yes all 4s is a very comfortable position during labor as it takes the pressure off, people go into the position to give birth and it helps the pain so I'd imagine in the early stages it would really ease the pains

Just had a sleep, slightly disturbed my intermittent pains. Shall see what happens now I'm more awake!

Are you still waiting Nikki?

Oh it does sound good. I would say you will be in labour by the end of he weekend if not before.

That is being conservative! I had these twinges and periods of rhythmic pains for 2 nights before I went into labour (very speedy labour!)

Have you eaten?

I've been trying to keep the food and fluids going in as I still feel pretty normal apart from intense pressure and then having to stop for contractions every five minutes.

I've just pulled up a contraction timer on my phone so I can see if there's some sort of pattern (I think there is). I'm planning a home birth so the midwife said I need to let them know sooner rather than later when I go into labour so they can organise someone to come out to me.

I guess they are hurting but it feels ok.

Just had another bloody show and still having contractions 5-10 mins apart. They are starting to get more painful.

I actually think this might not be a false alarm!!

Oh exciting, you sound like you are in a good mental place and have a solid plan! Just keep moving and I hunk you'd best call some people!

Dh came home from.work at about three and I said to him after my bath we'd go out and walk the dog.

I've ditched the contraction timer as it was starting to stress me out.

Think I'll call the labour line after my walk Grin

You're.right, I'm feeling in a good place mentally and really focusing on relaxing when it gets more painful

I'm hoping the Walk has made the pattern a bit more steady and things are progressing for you.

Do you know what you are having?

Sounds good to me, good luck and keep us posted, I recognise you from the pregnancy after miscarriage thread I think? You sound in a really positive and centred headspace which has to help!

You're right lucky, hi Smile

Contractions are between 2 and 4 mins apart so dh has put the pool up. I'm in bed now and am going to try to get some rest.

Still not convinced that this is it - I feel like a fraud! Midwife said they won't come out because I seem so calm, etc even though my contractions are so regular. Happy enough on our own for now though so we shall see how it goes

Midwife left at 1am and I've managed to get a small amount of sleep. She said I'm in early stages but baby will be born today.

I'm so tired already as I've been going since 6am yesterday. Currently snuggled on the sofa with a dog curled into the crook of my legs
