Gone off food - Almost 14 weeks - Will it get better?

I am almost 14 weeks pregnant and have lost over a stone in weight so far - I have the horrible metallic taste in my mouth constantly and hate the thought of my next meal as have gone off everything!! This is unlike me as I am usually a massive foodie but cannot bare the thought of eating! Has anyone else been through this and did it get better? I am worried my weight loss will continue and that it will effect my baby- any advice appreciated! Smile

I was like this, I still am really. Spend an age trying to pick what to have for dinner as nothing sounds appealing. I have been eating so many bags of crisps or plain biscuits just for the sake of eating really. I hope you feel better soon Flowers

I really went off food at round about the same time. Just didn't fancy anything at all. It didn't make me feel sick or anything, just didn't appeal. 24 weeks now and appetite well and truly back!

Samila I'm 24 weeks pregnant at the moment. Hoping it will pass soon! Don't really want another 16 weeks of it!

Thanks all - just a quick update and hopefully some positivity for others suffering from ongoing sickness - for me, the sickness definitely has gotten better after 20 weeks / I still throw up bile/stomache acid each morning but my appetite is much better than it was prior to this and the thought of entering the kitchen no longer makes me want to throw up X

Thanks for the update, Samila - I still have sickness and food aversions at 16 weeks and was starting to worry that at this point, it might stick around for the rest of my pregnancy. I guess it still might, but it's reassuring that there's hope yet!

Yes, I was less keen on eating around that time with lots of food aversions. I slowly regained my appetite and by 20 weeks was eating loads!

I know pregnancy is different for each and every one of us but yes there is hope as for many it seems to disappear after the twelve week marker at twenty weeks - Hang in there - will all be worth it in the end;-) xx
