Random but... waters breaking while swimming?!

Swimming every other day for an hour keeping me sane this pregnancy, but now 32 weeks and starting to have silly niggling worry about waters breaking while swimming and not realising. Is this ridiculous?! Is anyone else keeping up swimming till the final hour as I definitely don't want to stop!

Mine broke in the bath and I didn't realise! I knew i was in labour though.

Mine went in the birthing pool and I definitely knew. I could feel liquid rushing out of me.

Many times waters go after labour has begun. The last week or so before I went into labour I had loads of niggling pain and on and off again contractions so I personally wouldn't have been swimming then. But everyone is different so who knows...

The Dr broke my waters when I was in labour - the liquid is really warm so I expect you'd feel it even if swimming (unless the pool is heated to 37 deg!)

I have two DC and neither labour began with waters breaking. Obviously it does happen but it's a very Hollywood\ TV style start to labour so we expect it to happen like that. This is meant to reassure you, by the way I've also seen it said a lot on here that they keep coming out of you, not just one gush. Though maybe it's different for everyone.

My friend thought her waters had gone when she'd got out the pool and was getting changed - she was overdue and rushed to the hospital. The doctors said it was just pool water - a great pelvic floor, apparently

My waters broke before I went into labour. It was an initial gush followed by a continuous trickle that never really stopped. Even if they break in the pool without you realising it, you'll notice the continued leaking after you get out and dry off. I wouldn't worry.

I used to worry about the same thing but loved swimming and went the day before I gave birth!

As other posters have said, there will be a trickle after the initial gush...

Thank you! Was asking as with my first, my waters broke then contractions didn't start till quite a while later (ended up being induced after 24 hours) so keen to know when it happens. It looks from what you've all said (as is the answer to just about anything) it's impossible to plan around!! I think I will keep on swimming and hope I notice it if it happens

My waters broke exact at 37 weeks... in 4 am morning in a gush.. that even I could barely stood up from my bed and I was socked fully... good that I was using water proof sheet..
But It was continuous trickling after that for 24 hours as hospital told me to stay at home until labour starts... I was changing 1 maternity pad every 2 hours..
I was feeling that body was continuously creating that sterile water which was leaking through..
whole message is that .. even if you broke while swimming ... you will get to know afterwards.. as it will not stop trickling..

I can imagine it depends how they break.

Mine broke with a gush (after a dream about them breaking - seriously) and there was no mistaking it. I thought I'd pee'd at first because there was so much and it was yellower than I'd imagined. It carried on doing that all through the day until contractions started (found out after labour I'd had excess fluid that was missed).

Some women have a trickle they mistake for an increase in discharge though. That, i can imagine might not be so noticeable when swimming

Mine went in the bath too! I didn't realise. It wasn't until the senior midwife decided to examine me she realised there were no waters there and they had been attempting to break them. Poor D's had lots of scratches on his head.
