Reading books together, fetching things for you, building blocks, nursery rhymes.

How old is DS?makes a massive difference re planning. 19 mo between ds1 and ds2 here and 3y 3 mo between ds2 and ds3.

For us anything crafting works, tablet, audio books, some games, hiding things around the house for him to hunt, giving snacks for the older one so feeding at mealtimes... whilst he might not watch tv would he watch nursery rhymes or action songs that he can join in with? Mine liked baby Einstein series before they had the attention for tv as the pictures change so quickly rather than watching a programme.

I think generally you can do anything, you might just feed a second child differently to the first (sat on floor, at dinner table etc) FWIW my ds1 used to feed for 45mins to an hour, ds2 and ds3 will always a full feed in less than 10 minutes even from very early ages.

Good luck.

How old? With DS we'd read favourite stories together. He'd started biting me when I fed DD as I think he felt pushed out so attention whilst I was feeding her resolved that.
Praise any 'help' your toddler gives you such as shoving muslins in the baby's general direction.
Congratulations Smile

I had a basket of toys and books that were purely for when I was feeding the baby. We read lots of books in the first few days as DS snuggled up on the sofa next to me.

Toddler will be 2.5 years when baby is born Smile and he will sit still while paw patrol is on. Otherwise he runs around constantly, can never get him to stay still normally! thanks for all the ideas so far!

Baby is 2 weeks old. Don't have any useful tips. My 21mo has been amusing herself by shaking the Xmas tree (which is now a mountain of needles!) Grin

Maybe get a little box of things together to drag out. Keep a drink and snack for him in there too. And remember to keep the remote nearby

My son loved playing toy cars on the sofa next to me.
