Surprise Pregnancy and Partner's Opinion

Hey all!

I just found out I'm pregnant with my first (I'm only 22)! It's come as a bit of a shock to me, so still just getting over the news myself.

My biggest worry is how I am going to tell my boyfriend. I know he's not going to want me to keep the baby, but I'm not sure I can face him telling me to abort. I will admit that this pregnancy has come at a rather unhelpful time as we are just about to buy a house and we still have careers to focus on.

What's your opinion on how to tell boyfriends/spouses? How would you deal with being told your SO doesn't want a baby?

Thanks :)

Be prepared that it could be a deal breaker if you want the baby but he doesn't. Just tell him, he needs to know immediately really so you can discuss it together. I hope he reacts better than you think he will.

Just sit him down and tell him so you can get it over with and discuss it properly, to be honest.

I found out I was pregnant when DP and I had only been together 10 months and we weren't even living together and had no immediate plans to do so. A lot of things were going in his life at the time so I waited to tell him but he could tell something was "wrong" and it nearly broke us up. He is 27, I am a bit older, and I thought he wouldn't want DS. I was crying when I told him but his reaction was wonderful. He cuddled me and said " I'm going to be a dad" whilst grinning, it was one of the best moments of my life.

I found that I was pregnancy back in October which was a surprise. We had been together just 11 months.

I was nervous when I told him but he was so excited.

Just the other day he asked me when we would start trying for the next one!
I'm not even due to give birth until June!!!

I think you just have to tell him straight, and I'd do it sooner rather than later.

Tell him straight

However if he didn't want you to have a baby, maybe he should of used protection! Its a 2 way deal.

He maybe happy, if not then thats down to you to think of ways how to dump him

No one said he didn't chilli, if it's come as a surprise to both of them they probably did..

Congratulations!

Well you're buying a house together, so obviously you are both planning a future together anyway. So perhaps his reaction will pleasantly surprise you?
I think you just need to tell him though, sooner he better.
