Put on loads of weight in second trimester

I barely put anything on the first 12 weeks, was on course for recommended gain at around 18 weeks and seem to have put on a stone since then, so about 2lbs per week which seems a huge amount. Granted, it's Christmas and I've not been watching what I eat. Other than on my bump, I can't really tell where it's gone either. I'm still in size 12s, just with a massive bump.
Does this seem normal? Is there anything I can do to slow this down?
I plan on eating much healthier and I think I'll ring the antenatal clinic tomorrow. Terrified about pre-eclampsia.

I'm a size 10-12 and with my last pregnancy and this one I only put on 2 stone. With dd, I was back in my jeans within a couple of weeks. Everyone commented on my neat bump and how I hadn't gained weight anywhere else. I STILL developed pre eclampsia. My sil put in 4stone and didn't have it at all. Try not to worry, eat well for your baby and take care of yourself. It's all you can do really.

Thank you. I rang the antenatal unit and she said not to worry about it and to chat with my midwife next week at my appointment.
