I'm 35 weeks and crave the smell of dirty potatoes Confused. Honestly its so bad I have to resist the temptation to have a sniff in supermarkets.

Jodie1982 Craving ice can be a sign of having low iron levels, aka anaemia. Have you been tested by your midwife for it yet?

My worst for cravings was around 9 weeks, I NEEDED oranges, lemons and salt and vinegar crisps. I took a phase then of wanting dairy, ice cream, cheese etc. Haven't had any big cravings in a while now.

I'm not that that stage in this pregnant yet but in my last 2 I majorly craved tissue, I ate loads of it! Both times it meant I was anemic, so after a good few weeks on the strong iron tablets it faded but it tasted so good at the time haha

Report
laurenmarie88 · 27/12/2016 18:43

Haha not heard of tissue one before but there are other strange Ines it's mental haha.... mine seems to be sweet ATM

Yeah do cravings have meanings ?

I think they do have meanings, I ran out of my pregnancy vitamins and had a desperate need for radishes and would eat piles and piles of them for weeks on end. I found out that they're full of Folic Acid!!

Ive recently been through a seaweed stage and have been buying pack of seaweed sheets and gobbling them all up in one go! They're one of the only foods with such high iodine levels which helps baby's brain development.

The body is amazing!

Im not sure why in the first trimester I could only eat non foods with zero nutrients like coco pops, pot noodles, pasta meals that you add water to and have that sort of "cheese and broccoli" powder on???

Confused

He said they didn't have any suitable. He bought me some loose ones today but they don't smell Sad. The best ones are a little sealed bag of new potatoes, I open the corner and have a sniff

I am now gagging for a glass of pineapple juice with a lemon squeezed in.

PollytheDolly · 29/12/2016 18:49

My DD it was soap. It had to be Shield Blue soap (she's 20 now) and I did eat it.

I also spent at least half an hour every supermarket shop sniffing the toiletry isle.

My midwife laughed at me and said, you'll be telling me you've got a bar in your handbag next.

I showed it to her, complete with teeth marks Grin
