thecatsarecrazy Mon 26-Dec-16 18:04:32

I'm 35 weeks and crave the smell of dirty potatoes confused. Honestly its so bad I have to resist the temptation to have a sniff in supermarkets.

A need sour sweets, fresh pineapple and Tropicana orange juice. My teeth are going rot and fall out at this rate 😣

laurenmarie88 Mon 26-Dec-16 21:33:12

Haha anything sweet for me TBH lol or just wanting to eat all the time which isn't good

Jodie1982 Tue 27-Dec-16 12:12:21

Ice. It's all I want to eat! The crunch is absolutely amazing. 😁

laurenmarie88 Tue 27-Dec-16 12:31:01

I craved sponges with my last pregnancy haha

TallyHoAndToodlePip Tue 27-Dec-16 12:50:03

Jodie1982 Craving ice can be a sign of having low iron levels, aka anaemia. Have you been tested by your midwife for it yet?

haveacupoftea Tue 27-Dec-16 16:49:53

My worst for cravings was around 9 weeks, I NEEDED oranges, lemons and salt and vinegar crisps. I took a phase then of wanting dairy, ice cream, cheese etc. Haven't had any big cravings in a while now.

jimijack Tue 27-Dec-16 16:51:28

Ice, ice & more ice.
ICE!!!!!!

thecatsarecrazy Tue 27-Dec-16 17:24:49

I lived on salt and vinegar squares when I was going through sickness. Only thing I could keep down oh and snack wraps from McDonalds

Alb1 Tue 27-Dec-16 17:55:45

I'm not that that stage in this pregnant yet but in my last 2 I majorly craved tissue, I ate loads of it! Both times it meant I was anemic, so after a good few weeks on the strong iron tablets it faded but it tasted so good at the time haha

laurenmarie88 Tue 27-Dec-16 18:43:21

Haha not heard of tissue one before but there are other strange Ines it's mental haha.... mine seems to be sweet ATM

user1468957349 Tue 27-Dec-16 18:47:08

Anything spicy and / or salty up until about 20 weeks and now anything sweet (34 weeks) x

toffeeboffin Tue 27-Dec-16 18:48:09

Another one for citrus, especially pineapple juice.

laurenmarie88 Tue 27-Dec-16 18:57:57

Yeah do cravings have meanings ?

Bumbleclat Tue 27-Dec-16 19:30:52

I think they do have meanings, I ran out of my pregnancy vitamins and had a desperate need for radishes and would eat piles and piles of them for weeks on end. I found out that they're full of Folic Acid!!

Ive recently been through a seaweed stage and have been buying pack of seaweed sheets and gobbling them all up in one go! They're one of the only foods with such high iodine levels which helps baby's brain development.

The body is amazing!

Im not sure why in the first trimester I could only eat non foods with zero nutrients like coco pops, pot noodles, pasta meals that you add water to and have that sort of "cheese and broccoli" powder on???

confused

laurenmarie88 Tue 27-Dec-16 19:45:24

I'm loving pot noodles lol you having boy or girl ?

laurenmarie88 Tue 27-Dec-16 19:45:56

I asked dh to buy me a bag of potatoes last night when he went for electric. I nearly cried when he came home without any

laurenmarie88 Thu 29-Dec-16 14:53:09

Did you send him back for them hehe bet he felt bad or was the shop sold out xx

thecatsarecrazy Thu 29-Dec-16 18:26:47

He said they didn't have any suitable. He bought me some loose ones today but they don't smell sad. The best ones are a little sealed bag of new potatoes, I open the corner and have a sniff

haveacupoftea Thu 29-Dec-16 18:29:51

I am now gagging for a glass of pineapple juice with a lemon squeezed in.

PollytheDolly Thu 29-Dec-16 18:49:24

My DD it was soap. It had to be Shield Blue soap (she's 20 now) and I did eat it.

I also spent at least half an hour every supermarket shop sniffing the toiletry isle.

My midwife laughed at me and said, you'll be telling me you've got a bar in your handbag next.

I showed it to her, complete with teeth marks grin
