Stretching pains in second pregnancy

I'm only about 4+5 with DC2 and I feel like I've been having stretching pains already. Has anyone else experienced it so early on?

I had none with my first and second pregnancy but now with my 3rd I get them. Not as early as you though. Started from around 12+ weeks

I had these with my second pregnancy too but later around 14+ weeks.

Yeah that makes sense for round ligament pain at those kind of stages. So I'm wondering if it's something different. I hate these early stages of pregnancy!

Thanks for replying Smile

I had some awful pains at 4-6 weeks pregnant. Doubled over and in agony wondering how the hell I was going to do labour! I didn't realise at the time but my H thought I was misscarrying, oddly It never crossed my mind. I guess it was stretching or something.

Thanks everyone. I really hope it's not a sign of SPD 😱

I guess there's just so much going on at this stage there's no wonder we get strange feelings!

Congratulations Lauren Smile

I not saying it necessarily is, but keep an eye on it so you can get an early referral to physio if so.

Possibly implantation pains?

What are stretching pains? I keep having bad cramp like pain around my entire middle at various times. Is that the same? Only 8 weeks along

I'm 5+5 and have been getting definite ligament/stretching aches for the last week or so (it was one of the things that made me realise I might be pregnant as I hadn't felt them since my first pregnancy, although a lot later on). They come and go but there's no mistaking what they are.

Will also be keeping an eye out for SPD and crossing my fingers!

Yeah I thought maybe implantation pains Only, seems a bit early for stretching really. I'm not sure about your pains Haich but at 8 week it could well be your uterus expanding. Cramps are also normal early on Lauren, as long as there's no bleeding. It's a stressful time waiting for that first scan!

Am 4+4 with #4 and have been having stretching pains since day my period was due. Different to period pains: duller and more stretchy (!). Can't remember how early I felt them with previous pregnancies but would have thought they were a good sign rather than anything ominous...bean is getting nicely settled in!

That's interesting Zig, thanks for your reply. Hopefully it's not a sign of SPD for either of us though. No idea how I'd manage that and a toddler!!! Congratulations on your BFP!

I had awful pains around my c section scar from about 6 weeks until 16ish. It felt like the scarring on the inside was stretching and I was convinced that it had to be a uti for week. 33 weeks now and haven't had the same pain since.

Just remembered and adding it here to hopefully reassure someone.. with #1 at around 20wks i was up all night once with awful awful pains all night long. Was convinced I was losing the baby. Next day I felt like I'd done loads of major ab workouts-could hardly get out of bed it was so sore. Was just stretching but was so crazy strong...
