Could i be pregnant??

Hi all, i'm new to this so apologies if there's a thread already!
Here's the back story (sorry if it's a long one!)
I'm wondering if i may be pregnant. My period was due yesterday and i've had no symptoms that i'm coming on at all (I'm always really regular with my periods and come on the day i'm meant to)
A few weeks ago i had period like cramping pains for around 4/5 hours (implantation pains?) i've suffered from sleeplessness, extreme thirst (always feel like i've chewed a mouthful of sand) and dizziness.
I took a cheap strip test this morning which came back negative.
When i went to the toilet a few hours ago there was a small amount of dark brown blood but i've had nothing since.
So my question is, could i still be pregnant? Am i testing too early?
The date that we did the deed was 3rd Dec (Now 22nd Dec)
Any help would be appreciated! x

You could be pregnant but nobody on MN can tell you whether you are or not- wait a few days and test again if you still haven't had your period. I hope you get the result you want!

If you've had sex then yes, you could.

If testing negative after more than 14 days since last unprotected intercourse, it's unlikely but not impossible.

There isn't much you can do other than keep testing until BFP or your period starts.

You say you're new, so you might not have spotted that MN has a TTC topic

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception

and you might find it helpful to have a browse in there.
