How many early testers stayed pregnant past missed period?

Hi there. I tested 3 days and now 1 day before expected period and had positive tests. My worry is that AF will come and things won't 'stick'. I know if I had waited to test after period I wouldn't be disappointed if it does indeed turn out to be a chemical pregnancy because I would just think we didn't conceive that month. How many of you tested positive before your period was due and went on to full term pregnancies? Remaining hopeful but realistic! Smile

I tested really early with my DD. I can't remember how early but definitely before my missed period. It made my pregnancy feel like the longest pregnancy ever, especially considering I didn't find out I was pregnant with DS til I was 7 weeks pg! DD now toddling around the living room 🙂 And DS is now lying on the floor asking for sweets!

I think the miscarriage rate is about 30%? The odds are in your favour. Good luck 🍀

And if you did test early, how long did you wait to book GP visit? Thanks!

You probably won't need to see your GP, call the surgery and ask. Often they just give you midwife details. There's no hurry as the midwife won't see you until about 8 weeks.

I got my positive about 4 days before my period was due. Very sore boobs prompted the test! So far it's stuck! I'm 10 weeks now :-)

I tested at 9dpo and am now 16+5 :). I had a mc with last pregnancy at 7weeks after testing at 14dpo. Try to relax! Testing or not won't make any difference to the outcome (but as you said you just won't have known about it). I personally wouldn't test so early again just because it's made it feel like forever, starting at 3weeks+2 was the longest few weeks of my life until the first appointment! Congrats and fx :)

I tested as early as you could 15 years ago, I remember the test was really expensive! Stayed pregnant.

Early tester here and now 16+3. I've read that late implantation actually doesn't bode very well for a sticky bean so an early bfp is a good start.

Tested at 11dpo because I have a short LP and I'm now 4+2 so obviously very early days but past the AF might turn up stage.

With my son I tested at 15dpo but given the strength of the line I would have got a positive much earlier too and he's nearly 2 now.

Like a PP said, it's really not going to affect the outcome. You've just got to stay positive and hope for the best!

Thanks for all your messages. I think I need to remember that it won't affect the outcome so I should relax. I think if there is a next time, I will wait to test after missed AF to save myself some agony!

I am old and I always waited a week after a missed period, but that was because the super accurate tests didn't exist. I am sure I wouldn't be able to resist. Obviously it doesn't make any difference to the long-term outcome, but I probably had two chemical pregnancies which I didn't even know or get upset about. Double edged sword these tests.

I tested nearly a week before, then tested everyday until I believed it....was so paranoid I'd come on.

I'm now 23 weeks.
