Anyone up? I'm scared!

Hi all,

I'm wide awake and not sure what to do. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, went in to hospital on Saturday night with some light bleeding. They did blood tests and said everything was fine, referred me for an early scan on Monday and sent me home. Sunday was light bleeding again on and off.

I'm awake now, bleeding is slightly heavier and I have a bellyache. I was constipated and have been to the toilet now, the bellyache has eased off but still there.

I'm so terrified about this scan, I am going first thing in the morning. We tried 18 months for this pregnancy I truly don't feel I can cope to lose it.

Does anyone have experience with bleeding in early pregnancy?

I don't but I know there are lots of threads if you do a search. I hope it's positive news tomorrow.

No experience personally, but just wanted to handhold Flowers My SIL had some bleeding in early pregnancy and also had an early scan at 8 weeks. My nephew is due just before Christmas. Will keep everything crossed for your scan tomorrow x

I have no advice I'm afraid but I just want to say hi and to let you know that I am up. Getting pregnant is a scary business and hopefully all will go well. Can your partner reassure you or maybe he/she is sleeping soundly (grr).

There isn't a lot you can do but if you can't sleep at all get out of bed and watch telly or something to distract you. The morning will come soon one way or another. Take care x

I had lots of brown blood when I was pregnant and everything was fine

Thank you. I am reading some old threads on mumsnet and there is a mixture of results.

DP is asleep, if I woke him he'd probably want to go to the hospital, but I'm not sure what help that would be if I'm due to go in the morning anyway.

It's ok to wake him if you need to, the two of you are together on this. Don't stay frightened alone my love. Flowers

We decided to go to a&e. I'd rather know now than wait all night for the scan

Hoping it all goes well for you.

I bled every 3 weeks right up to 22 weeks with my last pregnancy. My baby turns 19 next month. Take 1 day at a time.

Thanks Millionsmom, did you have any period pain when you were bleeding? It is the pain that worries me

Yes I had pains too.
My DD1 was convinced my 'D'M had cursed us she always thought her 'D' gm was a witch every time we felt the worst had passed it would happen again. I had a previous MC and it was very different. I had no pain at all and the bleeding was like a dam opening.

How you at A & E now?

I bled on and off for the first 9 weeks.

I had 2 wart miscarriages but then this pregnancy stuck despite the bleeding. I had scans at 5, 6 and 8 weeks and all was ok.

I had bleeding and had a couple of scans, just last week.
No one can tell you things will be ok for you, but we all hope things turn out well.
Be kind to yourself and use MN support alongside DP x

Still in a&e and nothing is happening, just sitting here waiting next to a bunch of empty cubicles.

The pain has eased off, probably due to the paracetamol I took earlier, and bleeding isn't quite as heavy as earlier. Not sure whether to wait it out here or go home and wait for the scan.

It's common and many result on a healthy pregnancy still. Try not to worry especially as your bloods were ok. Aldi at that gestation your foetus /placenta does invade into the uterus which can cause cramping and sometimes bleeding g - hope alls well Flowers

Fwiw I'd be inclined to wait til tomorrow if you're well as in early pregnancy they have the experts plus ultra sound. A friend went to a&e years ago and was told she was miscarrying and did she want him to remove the membrane , she said no she'd wait, and the next day in EPU they told her the baby was fine .... she's 9 now Wink

I'm so sorry you're going through this Flowers

I've been awake with my Dad all night. They still don't know if he's going to make it thru the night (in hospital)

Hi Fruit cocktail - hope you are okay. I had bleeding at 7 weeks and went to a and e. All was okay and they couldn't explain the bleeding. I'm now nearly 10 weeks and have had 3 scans all seems to be okay. Hope it is for you too x

I went to A&E when I lost a baby between 1&2, because I was bleeding so heavily. They wouldn't scan me as they said it needed to be the EPU, so be prepared that your trust may have the same policy.

Really hoping it's good news for you Flowers

Thanks everyone. Doesn't look great. The gyno says one of my hormones tested in my blood it too low, meaning a miscarriage. But I am still going in for my scan now, then I'll know for sure
