Nope it didn't but with my second baby the day before labour I.....
Ate a pineapple
Ate a curry
Put pegs on my toes (something to do with pressure points)
Bounced on my ball.....
I woke up with what I thought were painless braxton hicks the next morning. It was early labour. But all in all I had been loosing its of mucus all week so it may have just been I was going into labour anyways

I would say curries, hot baths, sex & anything else you are advised to do to "bring on labour" are all old wives tales even if doctors recommend them. The thing is if any of them actually did the trick.....you'd be warned not to do any your entire pregnancy in fear of giving birth early!

Yep both times

Dtd and labour started about 6-8 hours later.

Could be coincidence, ill never know. Worth a shot though.

Clary sage and sex worked for us! Might have been coincidence but we tried a bath with the essential oil and sex twice before I went into labour and both times I had practise contractions a few hours after.

No and then yes twice. Even if it doesn't work it might be fun and relaxing despite the bump you must be sporting.

You'll find that a few people had sex and then labour started hours later
Far more will have sex and it doesn't happen. It's coincidental. The labour happened due to being heavily pregnant. People don't put it down to jaffa cakes or watching Bourne or singing along to carols. They shoehorn it to fit the rhetoric forgetting that the other 61 sexual experiences in pregnancy didn't start labour.

Generally, you won't induce labour on your own.

Well I'm 40+6 and have tried clary sage, pineapple, curry, sex, bouncing, walking, squats and 3 membrane sweeps. Baby still not here Angry

Yes, two out of three times. I'm sure it's coincidental but it's worth a try! Wink

If your baby is not ready to come out then nothing will start labour other than drugs. And some things, like castor oil, are actively dangerous.

DH refused to shag me when I was overdue. I was enormous, swollen and full of rage, I can't say I blame him! Grin

Yep. 2 hours later contractions started!

JellyTeapot · 22/11/2016 16:03

Nope, but it made DS turn a bit so he was in a stupid position, resulting in an EMCS Angry

No Idea if it might have worked because dh refused to try. Apparently he was scared the baby you could 'see' him thrusting towards it! HmmGrin
