40+4 today, FTM

Aside from a complete breakdown this morning, I've been OK in myself. Me and Oh decided to go out for dinner, for last hour - hour and half I've been getting period cramp type quite intense feelings all low down, not long got back home and it feels like the pressure 'down there' has doubled.

Cramps are on and off in waves, is this just part of the process or could this be start of contractions/something happening? Belly really tight

Sounds like the early stages of labour. 😀
Try and keep a time on them. And I would give labour ward a ring, for some advice and so they know you'll be in at some point.
Nice warm bath and try to relax. GOOD LUCK!

Def sounds like the start!! Mine started like that at 1pm, by about 9pm they became regular. There's loads of free apps you can use to time them. Exciting!!

Been timing - 5-7 mins apart lasting 1-2 mins! Rang MAU says sounds like it and to chill!

I bloody hope this is it! Come on baby!

Sounds like my first early labour and I was also loosing mucus and spotting during this time so I knew I was dilating. Not to upset you though but this lasted for 4 days lol!

I hope we continue. Just had a nice bath, lost first bit of plug on due date, have started loosing more now. Contractions eased off in water, just started timing again now out.

Just trying to chill and hope this is her entrance x

In early labour!

Made it to midnight at home, contractions 2-5 mins apart, had internal however and only 1cm.

Contractions ongoing but blood pressure high so wouldn't send me home, had to be canulated however my naff veins took 4 people right up to the anaesthetist and using an ultrasound - absolute agony.

Now sat on BP monitor waiting for blood results before decide on next steps

Nikki2ol6 Mon 31-Oct-16 07:22:23

Oh goodness I have no idea about blood pressures could it be because your in labour and a bit stresses? Anyways good luck your in the right place now

Ladies! I have the key!!

So on Sunday around 3.30, just about to go for dinner, table reserved, pulled up in car park, and having had silence most of day with partner - no reason other than I was 40+4 and the tea he made me in morning didn't taste like it had sugar in - so I sobbed.

Then my friend told me she was being induced on Halloween 2 weeks early -- so I sobbed some more!

Finally I decided Disney was needed to lift me up - except no one told me the long over waited 'up' starts in 10 minutes of complete emotional heartbreak and I sobbed some more!

Anyway, pulled up for dinner and it all just came out in the car "I can't do this anymore, I need her out, I can't cope, I feel so stupid' my OH did his best to console me and reassure and finally we go inside - placed our food orders - by 4pm - BOOM! Contractions started and continued until 4.32pm on Halloween when my little girl was born! Absolutely shocked, stunned, amazed. 24 hours to change your life! But clearly she was listening well to my sobs lol
