Can anyone suggest any baby names for a very poorly baby?

My baby is due in around 9 weeks and we have not decided on a name and other family members are now telling us we must call him this and that. Iv told them to back off this is OUR baby but they haven't.
When our little boy arrives he's going to be be very poorly so we need a strong name or a name with great meaning for a little fighter

Andrew means strong and manly
Duncan, Louis and Boris also mean warrior or fighter

There are lots of names out there with a warrior/fighter/strong meaning but some are more 'mainstream' whilst others are not. Do you prefer classic names or something a little alternative?

I adore the name Rocco - it sounds strong. And Arthur is a good name, shortened to Artie. And Brax(ton). I hope your little boy is OK, what a worry for you. He deserves a very special name, if he has a fight ahead of him. But I'd keep a few in mind, as you really can be surprised that a name doesn't suit their face if that makes any sense!!

Thank you everyone, I know deep down that his name will really have no effect on how it all pans out in the end but right now I have nothing else to help me through these new few months. What does everyone think of the name Archie?

My dad's dad was Archie (well Archibald but everyone called him Archie). It's nice :)

I love Archie - if DD had been a boy that's what (s)he would have been called. I know an Archie and he calmly copes with anything life throws at him.
I hope it all goes well for you and him Flowers

If my bump was a boy then Archer / Archie would have been on the top 5 list. I also like Bobby, Sawyer, Reuben and Felix. Reuben means 'behold a son' and I think it has a lovely strong sound to it. Hugs.

Archie is a fab name. Please just pick a name you love, regardless of family, friends or people on the internets thoughts. Best wishes for you and your baby.

Fwiw, I have a Samuel (Sammy). In the bible he was the much wanted and loved child of Hannah. Don't know if that's fitting for you.

Gabriel, Samuel, Andrew, Ethan, Luke, Adam,

Boys names ending in 'ie' come across a bit twee to me. As you mentioned strength, to me this is not the kind of name association you're looking for.

I know exactly how your feeling right now. My little boy is due 13th Jan (but will be induced) and he has a Diaphragmatic Hernia and a 50% chance of survival. He will be called Luca.
Absolutely petrified not knowing if he'll be coming home. 😢
Wishing your little boy all the best wishes.

My little boy has serious heart defects. I won't get to hold him at birth and he's to be taken immediately to cardiac intensive care. Iv been for a tour around but it still doesn't quite Seam real. I pray they made a mistake but Iv had 4 scans now and 8 cardiac doctors agree. We don't know if he will even be able to cry at birth or if he will just stay blue. I'm terrified. I wish you all the best for your little ones arrival. I'm being induced just after Christmas but no date set yet xx

I won't hold my boy either. Needs ventilating/stabilising straight away. He won't be able to breathe due to hardly any lung development 😣
I toured the NICU at Chelsea and Westminster last week, makes it feel more real and terrifying doesn't it. 😢 monthly scans etc
Haven't bought him anything as I don't know if he'll be needing it.
I'm sure whatever name you choose will fit him perfectly. I always find boys names hard to choose, if my cousin hadn't of suggested the name Luca I think he'd have been nameless for a while. 😁
What hospital will your little one be born at?
