Probably a daft question... Do babies like music?

Hi,

Embarrassing question that probably makes me sound a bit daft. I'm 26 weeks and have noticed that if baby is moving and I have music on then she moves around lots more which is great fun to watch and feel for me and DP.

I am not sure if the increase in movement is a sign she's enjoying it or a sign she doesn't like it!!!

Anyone know? Guess we can't tell for sure! It's not loud music - I live in a terrace house and don't want to disturb the neighbours!!

Some do. My DD used to do somersaults (or it felt like it) when DH sang to my tummy.

Yes-babies love to listen to music and react to it. It's a fantastic way to bond with them whilst you're pregnant. And if you play one tune a lot you might find your baby reacts to it once s/he is born...:)

Cool! One of the nicer sides of pregnancy that I'm enjoying as I'm still vomiting every now and again and feeling nauseous so good to have a bit of fun with it too!!!

They can definitely hear music.

When my DD was born, I used to sing her a lullaby. It worked a treat to calm her down when she was crying and even now at almost 6, she'll sometimes ask for it at bedtime.
