Hello,
I'm hoping some mums and mums to be out there can help with some advice.
Last week I went to A&E with suspected apendexcitus little did I know I'd be leaving the hospital finding out I had a bladder infection and was pregnant.
This was a total shock to me, and my partner, I'm on the pill and wasn't trying for a baby.
I went into total shock, i cried for two days wondering how this could have happened, I felt like my future had been taken away from me.
Family have told me it's a blessing to have a baby, it is, but I'm so scared.
I work as cabin crew and I'm on a seasonal contract which has just been extended till the end of March next year - if I tell them I'm pregnant - will they extend or will they find a way to get rid of me. This scares the hell out of me, what if I go on maternity and there's no job for me when I want to come back?!
I'm living at my boyfriends mums house currently as we were starting to save to move out.
I'm just worried, I won't have a job, we don't have a lot of money between us, especially now over the winter months I'm going part time at work..
Any advice, tips or similar experiences will be much appreciated.

Have you got confirmation in writing that your contract has been extended? You'll have to go on ground duties as soon as you tell them you're pregnant. I've been in your position (same job, me and my boyfriend lived with my parents, had no savings) 6 years ago. I made the decision to have an abortion which was the right thing for me at the time. Think long and hard, I knew immediately what I wanted to do and proceeding with the pregnancy at that time at 20 years old never entered my mind. I'm now 27 and in the very early stages of a planned pregnancy and couldn't be happier, 6 years ago I could hardly look after myself.

Yeah they sent me a new contact which I had to sign and send back. I don't know if they have to offer me a job after maternity or they can just not extend me anymore?! Like you, I had no plans of a baby just yet - maybe in a few years time. I wanted to have a house of our own and a secure job I know that I didn't need to worry about. I've only been cabin crew since April, and I'm loving it. I've never had a job I've loved so much. congratulations by the way 🙂 Xx
