This is 3rd baby and I know subsequent babies often don't engage until labour, however is it not still classed as transverse/ oblique lie if baby has her head on my right hip and feet on my left hip? She was head down at 36+6 but not in my pelvis but now she's definitely shifted over and head butting my hip and hiccuping there too lol does position really not matter for labour because it's not first baby orrr??? I'm not sure of the answer tbh, but I'm 38+2 and baby's head is deep in my pelvis, back is twisted and coming up to my left rib with the feet cutting across to the right! Kinda like a back to front number 7! I had a presentation scan and they weren't worried at all...they said labour will help straighten up baby and it should all be fine!

As far as I know that's not a good position for a baby for birth and don't think there is much chance now of your baby getting into the head down position. Are you certain of this?

My baby turned from head down to transverse at 38 weeks. I had an ecv and induction immediately due to previous fast labour and transverse positioning can be dangerous for you both.

Please contact a midwife to discuss with them.

If you're concerned about little one being transverse I would request a scan to check for where she is exactly. My understanding is you can't go into labour with transverse because the cord can come out first, which is bad.

Having said that, I thought my little one was transverse as I feel a lot of movements in my left hip (feels like my hip has hiccups!) and she kicks out my right hand side, but midwife said her head her is in my pelvis, so while she is kind of transverse, she is head down which is the most important thing. I will have a scan this week or next to confirm position as that is standard where I am. Are you seeing the midwife this week?
