I'm having constant headaches, and I have high BP but I have been told I do not have pre--eclampsia

Hi everyone,
This is the first time that I have written on any of these forums
I am 37 week and 6 days pregnant, I had a blood test for pre-eclampsia yesterday as I have high BP (also have polycystic kidney disease), but they are inducing me at 39 weeks.
I have been having constant headaches the last 3 days, could anyone suggest why as it is not due to PE. I also am not dehydrated as my urine sample today was clear like water. I'm just so worried. Help!

Maybe you have headache due to high bp, so you have hypertension rather than pre eclampsia?

Could be anything, I get headaches lots sometimes I think it's just down to going stressed.
As long as they are keeping a close eye on you, regular BP checks scheduled? Urine checks etc?
And as long as you know what symptoms to look out for. So phone immediately if your vision is effected, rib pain, hyperness, um not sure I can remember other signs but am sure you've been told. And if not Google.
And rest and try not to worry.
Why are you going induced at 39 weeks? Because of the BP?

High bp can cause headaches, and be unrelated to pre-eclampsia

I had similar. I had headaches, high blood pressure, floaty things in my eyes and protein in my urine. Blood tests ruled out pre eclampsia.

Turns out I had Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy (AFLP) which they failed to diagnose. Ask your midwife/Consultant about it.

I was admitted to hospital at 22w with high BP. The headaches were excruciating. They put me on labetalol to bring BP down and discharged me a day later. I'll be on them for remainder of pregnancy (am 24+5). I had no protein in wee and they said the headaches were due to BP. It's worth popping to your GP and seeing if meds will help. They may not prescribe if you already have kidney issues. In our area, anyone with a BP of 150 or higher is put on meds.

Pregnancy can cause headaches, just because they can. I was in a similar situation when pregnant with my oldest, now five. I had AWFUL headaches and my blood pressure was often high and was checked every day in the last week or two of my pregnancy. No pre-eclampsia either. As soon as my son was born my blood pressure went back to normal and headaches stopped so assume the headaches were hormone related.

When did you see your MW or GP last? Maybe worth a visit to put your mind at rest?
