I'm 26 weeks and this morning dropped my children off at school and went to the shops. Iv had breakfast before leaving the house. In the shop decided I'd get a basket instead of a trolley as trying to reach the bottom of the trolley with my big bump is hard. My basket started to ache my arms and I started to feel a little hot and sickly. I got to the part I needed to be and put my basket down as I was feeling not good at this point. This made me feel a little better so I got my tin of paint and headed to the till. I put all my stuff on the till and the feeling was coming back. I acted normal as I thought OMG if I faint in here this will be so embarrassing!!! So she scanned my stuff through and I packed it all but by now my hearing is disappearing and I new I had to sit down quickly or else I'd be a goner Blush. So I handed over the cash and quickly took off outside and manages to sit down outside the shop on a little bar that goes along the windows about 6 inches off the ground lol. Within about 30 seconds I felt much better and cooler. I stayed sitting down for about 5 minuets then left. I'm home now and feel ok but damn that was scary!!!! Do I need checked out or anything?

Oh no how awful!! It's such a horrible feeling! I have had a few occasions especially when I've been in shops I've gone in feeling fine got to check out and felt exactly how you felt I found it was because I was hungry and had been so distracted by shopping forgot that I was hungry! Soon as I've had fresh air sit down and a nibble to eat I've felt fine straight away! I also passed out when I was about 10weeks as I had the summer flu that was going round I spoke to Drs and they didn't seem concerned! Does your blood pressure go up n down a lot as that could be the reason?

Fainting is a common pregnancy thing.

I fainted once in pregnancy and felt very faint throughout the pregnancy.

Midwife didnt seem concerned. I just had to make sure that i didnt stand still too long or i would feel very faint. I avoided queues with more than 2 people in front of me otherwise i would feel faint again.

This happened to me when I was pg. I had rushed to the bank on my lunch break at work and hadn't eaten much that day. I told MW who told me to eat More.

I did a proper Victorian swoon and the man standing next to me caught me. Once I'd had a glass of orange juice i felt fine but he still insisted on walking me back to work. Quite embarrassing.

Yes this happened to me too in pregnancy - lots!!!

I was anemic, which I think played a huge part in it. Have you had your iron levels checked? I would mention it to mw but don't worry too much, you've got a lot going on in there! Smile

Yeah this happened to me lots. Often in supermarkets too Hmm

I was also really anaemic and had low blood pressure, so it was a perfect fainting storm.

Maybe double check you're not anaemic.

This happened to me a week ago, I'm 23 weeks. Started seeing stars and getting the roaring in my ears in the queue at Lidl. I stumbled past everyone and plonked myself on the chair at the end of the tills, by which point my vision had gone and I was groping along the edge. Head down for a bit and it all got better, though I was all clammy and sticky and had a headache for the rest of the day.

I did go to the GP for a BP check and urine dip to put my mind at rest that there was nothing sinister going on. BP is just very low - 90/40, so I am having extra salt, avoiding standing still too long and making sure I drink & eat frequently.

If it's worrying you just go and get someone to check you over, they don't mind.

Horrible feeling though, I hope you don't get it again!

Had the faintness near the beginning, from 10 weeks, to the point of being practically housebound for 8 weeks as just walking from the living room to the kitchen could set it off!

My blood pressure had dropped, and they assumed it was that, but when I went to the doctors about it they were reluctant to increase my blood pressure as they felt it was more of a risk.

It passed a couple of weeks later MOSTLY, and has just returned the last couple of weeks - with the discovery last week of iron count being low!

So definitely worth checking blood pressure and iron levels op, and hopefully they can help - its not a nice feeling at all is it!! xx

No it's very scan, I have been paranoid today when I went to the shop after the school run and the man in front of me decided he was buying every scratch card he could afford!!! I decided I would just open my chocolate milk and start drinking it before paying lol good job they know me in there and didn't mind x

Hello OP this happened to me at work. I rang midwife and she said it is a normal think but one of the causes is dehydration and to drink 4 litres a day
It has helped

This happened a few times in my first pregnancy. In fact I didn't realise I was pregnant until it happened on the way to work in week 6, had to pull over and run into a nearby pub as I felt like I was going to throw up, instead I passed out on the pub floor, the pub was closed (but unlocked) as it was about 6am, so no-one was there and no-one noticed me! I got up a couple of minutes later and went home! Took a test and that's when I realised I was pregnant.

I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my second now and it hasn't happened yet.
