Pregnancy

Baby lost?

My last period was August 14th meaning I should be 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant but at a scan today they couldn't find any sign of pregnancy at all, other than that my endo lining was thick as if supporting a pregnancy. They asked me to do a pregnancy test and I got a faint positive (my previous positives were all faint too) and a blood test revealed that my hormone level was only 375 which is why they couldn't see anything (it needs to be over 2,000 to show up). This would make me only around 3-4 weeks pregnant so they told me to prepare for the possibility that I had lost the baby. I'm certain I'm almost 6 weeks so I feel all hope is lost, but my partner and his Mum seem sure that's not the case. Am I being negative? Should I be holding onto hope? They plan to re-test my hormone levels Monday morning to see if they have doubled before deciding the plan from there. I've had no bleeding at all and no significant pain. Until a few days ago I had clear symptoms but they do seem to have settled but I found that in my previous pregnancies they did come and go. Anybody been here?

Sorry your having to hear this from the sonographer. Although not always the case as at this point theyre the size of a bean, ive been there but was asked to come back for a scan next day, and all was fine. Where are you located? As some hospitals could re-test on Sunday's? Just so your not having to wait & have all sorts of thoughts. Sending you lots of love Flowers x

They could have re-tested tomorrow, but they said it was better to wait 48 hours. I am supposed to work tomorrow but there is no way I could focus. Thank you for your positive thoughts x

It's routine to wait 48hrs to test, it's not because it's Sunday. Hope you get a straightforward answer on Monday so you aren't kept hanging on too long.

I went through a similar process with having numerous blood tests every 48 hours to track the hormone level. It rose painfully slowly but I'm now 35 weeks. I wish you all the best for Monday Flowers

Maybe you are earlier on in pregnancy than you think and they can't make anything out right now? I'm not sure how it works tbh. I was 6 weeks pregnant when I found out and my baby looked like 2 baked beans stuck together lol.
Make sure you have a full bladder ?

Today my hormone level has increased from 375 to 525. It's not enough to count as a normal pregnancy and still too small to check that the pregnancy is ectopic BUT it does mean the baby is alive and growing. I'm back again Wednesday to see if it has made it to 1,000 so that they can see it. I'm a bit numb now and don't know what to think x
