Help! Plus size maternity clothes.

Where the hell do you buy your plus size maternity clothes? Today I trawled town and all I found was 2 types of maternity tights, both only 60 denier.

I normally buy my clothes exclusively from ASOS Curve, with a few M&S staples thrown in, but ASOS Maternity ranges seem to be mostly leather leggings on size 6 models - not really what I'm after! Seriously, are people really wearing under bump low rise maternity jeans?

I'm particularly in need of clothes for work - in the winter I usually wear M&S dark coloured jeggings, jumpers and ankle boots, but at 12 weeks pregnant my jeggings are starting to get a little snug and I don't know where to get new bump-accommodating trousers!

Any advice on good pregnant, plus-sized winter work wear and where to buy it appreciated!

I'm a size 16 and got my work dresses from Seraphine and my basics (tops, jeans) from H&M. I know what you mean about the size 6 leggings! Not much use if you're curvy, middle aged and work in a professional job.

Thanks, that's helpful. I should have said I'm a size 18 so I can sometimes buy from standard high st stores but I do find it a slog searching for the few larger sizes in the store.

New look! Their maternity jeggings go up to a size 20'and are big fitting- I had to go down a size in them.

I was a 20 when pregnant and found over bump more flattering, I found that rather than developing a neat little bump like the models I just looked generally fatter until at least 30 weeks so over bump would hold everything in so to speak! Next work trousers were good, HM mama range for most of my tops and dresses and I bought maternity leggings from eBay £5 a pair and loved them. Depending on your body shape you aren't restricted to maternity ranges too- I wore a lot of normal range skater dresses cut under the bust so they accommodated my growing bump right until the end. I avoided figure hugging things designed to show bumps off as they just made me look like a lumpy sausage.

I'm an 18 and I lived in New Look maternity stuff when pregnant, mainly because it's one of the few places that stocks their maternity stuff in the stores so you can actually try it on.

Yours Clothing and Bon Prix. Though at size 18 loads of high street places will do maternity clothes to fit you.

I found asda, new look and yours all did nice maternity clothes in an 18/20. You do have to order online though. only a handful of shops actually carry maternity ranges in store these days. I also had success with purpless maternity wear on eBay. Mostly plain tops and dresses but I also bought some fairly decent nursing tops from their too.

I also used maternity camisoles/vests under a lot of my own tops and blouses for most of my pregnancy ( size 18/20).

I was a size 20 when pregnant & lived in H&m mama leggings & matalan maternity jeggings. Also found some good maternity bits in both of them & new look!!

Dorothy Perkins go up to size 20 and have some nice pieces for work.

Next, Asda, Bon Prix and Debenhams Red Herring all have decent plus sized maternity ranges at reasonable prices. Most places only do their maternity ranges online these days, order a few different sizes and return would be my advice. I have great straight leg over the bump jeans (not the dreaded skinny or bootleg), both fit the same but Bon Prix are a 22 and Next are a 20 (I find Next sizes are always quite generous anyway).

Their range to try on at home and then free returns. Delivery was 2.99

I am overweight (bad BMI over 35) - 5ft6 and 94kg. I am 31 next month but really want to have 3 kids ideally before 35 but I realise this is unrealistic.

What I don't know is whether to delay TTC to try to shift some weight or just TTC and see if how I get on. I have regular periods and don't have any reasons to think I have fertility issues.

Concern is that I will not be able to lose weight whilst pregnant (I understand it isn't recommended) and if I get on with TTC may be harder to shift weight with babies on my hand and less time to myself but leaving it later puts me at risk of fertility chances dropping.

What would you do?

Have any who are overweight had complications with pregnancy??? If so what?

Hi! I'm fairly tall (5'10 nearly 11'') and wear 16/18 when pregnant. H and m is fab for basics, the jeggings look like real jeans and are over bump and hold everything in so to speak! They were only about 20 pounds I think. So easy to get on and off as they're stretchy! Leggings are about 7 pounds again over the bump. I had ds in December and this baby is due this December so haven't really been out of maternity clothes. Probably never will, over tummy trousers are so much easier to wear IMO oh and the tops are long and generous in all areas in h and m! (I don't work for them or anything promise!)

Update: ordered jeans from New Look maternity and they arrived today and are perfect! Stretchy, skinny jeans that fit perfectly on the legs with essentially a jersey kangaroo pouch for my belly. I am delighted, thanks for the advice.

Hi I'm a size 20 and 32 weeks pregnant.i haven't brought much.i lived in my summer dresses and my shorts had elastic waists so say under the bump.i brought a couple of leggings from primark and long vest tops from there.i did pick up maternity jeans from peacocks.i also quite like asda and Dorothy Perkins ranges.i have three normal work dresses that I've been living in as they are comfortable and stretchy.

Could do worse than check out some of Monsoon's empire line jersey dresses (sale now on) and Tesco & Sainsburys both do stretch clothing up to size 22...

It depends on your budget, but nicer quality maternity wear made of good fabrics which last several pregnancies can be found on //www.slacksandco.com. If you can't find what you want in your size then I'd send them an email- they usually get back quite quickly.
