What should I do about job prospect?

So I am roughly 5/6 weeks pregnant, I only found out last week and it was like a switch went off over the last few days and I feel like crap. Headaches, sickness, exhausted - before I was thinking, how come I feel pretty normal?!

So at work, I was successful in applying for a secondment for a few months. Same employer, just different area. It's meant to start soon, and I am having massives doubts if now is the right time to be doing it!

I feel bad that chances are, over the next couple of months I am going to be feeling crap and maybe even needing time off if things get worse. Plus if I am feeling bad, I might not be working at 100%.

My secondment was only announced the other week and ironically the same day I found out I was pregnant.

I need advice, would you admit you are pregnant and say you want to either cancel or postpone the secondment? Or would you still go for it and hope for the best?

It is hard to know how you will feel later on, but if it makes you feel any better I always have a few weeks of feeling rubbish then start feeling normal again at around 9 weeks. Weeks 6-8 were always awful for me.

If you want to do the secondment, I would see how it goes and you may feel much better in another couple of weeks. If you start feeling worse or are still not 'back to normal' by 9/10 weeks then think about it again. I also found that taking 2 Spatone a day plus vitamin D (in addition to my folic acid) made a huge difference to my energy levels. That awful exhaustion lifted and I felt much better - worth a try!
