First trimester extreme tiredness

I feel so tired I could cry sad

I am not usually a wuss but I feel absolutely pathetic, like I can't function.

I've just had a two-hour rest and I still feel completely washed out.

Is this normal for early pregnancy or could there be something wrong? (I'm 6+1)

Very very normal. I used to collapse on to the sofa at 4 and not budge. If it persists past 12 weeks you could be iron deficient but this should show up in your bloods.

Tiredness is the worst part of pregnancy and parenting and it starts right from the beginning!

Thanks smile

At least I can feel reassured and just feel sorry for myself rather than worrying about it!

I just wish I didn't have so much work to do today!

So normal! I have literally cried with tiredness this week (9 weeks). Thank God it's the weekend!

Totally normal. Don't fight it, just get early nights and grab naps when you can. It is miserable (I felt very sorry for myself!) but it gets better!

Yep pretty standard. Second trimester is usually the best. I'm 32 weeks with dc2 and the tiredness is starting to really set in again.

Very normal and for me this was the worst stage of pregnancy. When I was in the early days of pregnancy with ds3 I remember sitting in my office wondering how I was actually meant to keep my eyes open! And it was all before the first scan so couldn't tell anyone at work how I was feeling! It wore off around 14 weeks.

So normal! I felt as if I was in a fog during my first trimester! Even blinking was an effort grin

Yep very normal, felt like I'd been hit by a bus for most of the first trimester and could barely scrape myself off the sofa to get a drink. it does get better though. 37 weeks right now and although I'm fairly tired and getting fed up it's nowhere near as bad as the first trimester, and at least now the cause is very evident!

Thanks everyone smile

I will try to see this as a good thing. I didn't get tiredness like this in my last pregnancy and then I had a MMC where the foetus had stopped growing at 7 weeks. Maybe the tiredness means my energy is going towards a more sustainable pregnancy this time!

NameChange30 Fri 16-Sep-16 18:06:08

Sorry for your loss flowers Best of luck for this pregnancy, the tiredness is definitely a good sign!

I'm exactly the same as you. Have spent so much time just sitting on sofa or in bed. Don't have the energy to talk or watch tv even. I felt like this with first child but don't remember it being this bad. You have my sympathy op xxx

So glad to see this! I'm 6+6 and feel like death, so tired I thought there was something really wrong with me and am actually taking time off work (first time off work in nearly 3 years) very glad to hear it's normal, had nothing like this with my 1st, he was such an easy pregnancy until the usual back pain towards the end. This time round I've got everything, tiredness, nausea, dizzy spells, ugh! Cannot wait to be done with the first trimester!

Very normal, I was sleeping 14 hours a mint in my first trimester. I literally did no housework for four months!

I knew I was pregnant with DS2 before testing because I was driving and all of a sudden a fog of tiredness just cloaked my brain and I had to pull over. Don't worry OP, by about 14 weeks you're much more chipper!

Yeah tired here too at 22+3. One three year old and one 9 month old and working part time - I'm a zombie atm lol but all signs of a good pregnancy so I'll take that. Good luck X

Very normal. Third pregnancy here, and it has happened to me each time.

I'm 5+4 and yes tiredness had fully gripped me I have 3kiddies already and I feel I'm running on empty constantly and in turn I'm a real ratty cow to my poor hubby 😂 it's very normal but very rubbish xx

Misery loves company so I will join you lovely ladies!!! 8 weeks here and absolutely cream crackered every day. I could go to bed at 6pm and still feel exhausted after 12 hours sleep. I was the same with my first baby.... But then I really only had to worry about myself. It's rubbish but worth it. smile
