Other people kids driving me mad

I'm really concerned that I'm going to be a useless mum with no patience. I'm in my 9th week of pregnancy and currently living at the in-laws (not for too much longer I hope or I'll go bonkers). There's been 4 kids here today, the youngest being 18 months and I just cannot stand to be in the same room. I'm hiding out in our bedroom writing this.

Is this normal?? I can't bear the noise, the stress or the busy-ness of the house. In laws don't know I'm pregnant btw

Have you been around kids and hated them before or is it a new thing?

It is different when the kids are your own. It just is. You instill in them the behaviour you feel is best too. If my dd was running around and screaming I'd get her to calm down. Try not to worry. Your anxiety is totally normal x

Most people (unless they are really kid people) find 4 kids way too much, especially if none of them are theirs. This includes parents who adore their children and have a couple themselves.

Don't worry. One of my friends has to have a drink before she hosts her sons birthday parties smile She has 3 kids of her own and adores them.

Our neighbours have 3 grandkids who they see all the time but admit they are desperate the hand them back now at the end of the day now that the 3rd has come along in the last 6 months!

I used to teach dancing to kids and I was absolutely in charge of 30+ kids with noooo problem, but right now I feel like whenever there's kids in the house I want to lock myself away

Ergh I hate other people's children. I like mine. Most of the time.
Other people's, nah.

4 of other people's sounds like a bit of a nightmare for anyone so I wouldn't worry too much!

I don't really like other people's kids (some exceptions to this of course), plenty of people feel like that but adore their own!

I have 11 kids and people assume I must love kids - yeah but only mine!! I have a gs and am getting my head around loving a child that isn't mine! Don't worry about being a great dm! Everyone worried about that!!

Its normal. I have 2 of my own and can cope with the moaning and arguments between them. When I'm at work or on the bus and hear a screaming child or one moaning for something it goes right through me. Imagine when you just sit down to eat and it is a "family friendly" place but a moany child sits behind you blugh.
