How much do you need to drink in a day to not die?

What's the minimum you'd need to drink (and keep in)? I'm getting quite worried because I can't seem to drink anything without throwing up, or I'm throwing up more liquid than I can drink if that makes sense?
I can keep some food down, for a bit, but I just can't seem to drink much at all.
I'm still weeing so I must be getting something but it's very dark and not much (sorry tmi)

Much less than the "hydrationists" will tell you- but not much dark pee doesn't sound good. What are you trying to drink?

It's impossible to specify a mls amount as there's so many variables.

Make an apt to see your gP ASAP or self refer to the maternity unit if you can and get checked out. You may need admitting for IV fluids. You can get medication for the sickness, have you tried anything?

Have you tried sucking ice, eating ice lollies or eating watermelon? Ginger tea? Lemonade? Coke?

I got prescribed a gazillion anti sickness mess in a previous pregnancy but I didn't find they helped at all, other than one that made me really sleepy so at least I was asleep instead of throwing up, it's not that bad this time though I can keep some food down and only sick afer eating or drinking rather than all the time.
I've tried drinking everything, tried sipping slowly but it seems as soon as there's any kind of liquid in my stomach I throw it all up plus loads of bile etc so it's like drinking is making it worse.
feel like shit with a constant headache and just fed up now

How many weeks are you? It's possible to become dehydrated very quickly with bad pregnancy nausea and vomiting and its best to seek medical attention. I was given a drip on several occasions due to hyperemesis.

Eat ice lollies ..i had severe nausea and vomiting for 18 weeks and lollies were my saviour as well as apples and boiled sweets.
I know how soul destroying it can feel being sick constantly so you have my sympathy..hope you find something that works for you and it eases soon x

Hi chick, not to worry you but I'd give your GP/midwife a call just because it sounds like you're dehydrated and if so it's likely they'll want to put you on an IV just to make sure you have enough fluids for your own health and for baby too. I had awful sickness so I really do empathise but definitely give your midwife a call or you could be quite fatigued and unwell.

Best of luck! Smile

PLEASE seek medical help. You probably need bloods doing to check your hydration status, especially in this hot weather. You may well need IV fluids.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
Sent dp to shops for ice lollies so will give them a try.
So far today I've drank:
a couple of tiny sips of dps Pepsi and a child sized cup of water which I then threw up.
Ate a bagel and philidephia which I guess has some fluid in but also throw that up.

So if no luck with the ice lollies then I'm going to make a gp appointment tomorrow

You do need to see your doctor tomorrow, OP. It's just not enough - no wonder you've got headaches. It must be like having a really bad hangover.
