25 weeks pregnant - less strong kicks

Hi all,

I am not sure if i am just over-worrying, and whether any one has experienced the same. I am 25 weeks pregnant today. Between 23 and 24 weeks she was very active, and her kicks felt pretty strong, to the point my boyfriend could feel them, although not see them.

The past 5-6 days, she seems to be less active. She is still active every few hours, but not to the same extent. And her kicks definitely dont feel as strong. I have been extremley tired in these 5-6 days too, and more hungry than normal.

Should i be worried? Or is the baby possibly less room to kick as hard? I just dont want to go to the hospital and cause a fuss...but I am just worried why it seems she isnt kicking as hard/as much

Thanks,

xx

Give them a ring and go to the hospital, they will always rather you did than sit at home. They will scan / monitor you and put your mind at rest. Xx

Please don't feel you are making a fuss. If you are worried that's enough reason to call mws.
Having said that, it may just be a change in baby's position.
But remember, You are her only advocate.

Please call your midwife. She/he will know what to do. I think a quick scan would put your mind at rest.

I think it's normal to feel movements differently depending on stage of pregnancy eg I'm now overdue and baby tends to 'stretch' and wiggle as apposed to kick. But.....if it's worrying you then call up your mw unit to discuss your concerns, they will advise you and say if you need to go up to be monitored. I went up at 26 weeks as hadn't felt baby all day (anterior placenta) ad the minute I got there it started kicking like crazy!!! Blush mw was so kind though and said that always happens and they would much rather women go up that sit at home worrying. X

Oh and she said baby was probably turned inwards which is why I couldn't feel it until baby turned. I still feel the same amount of movements now, just in a different way

Any change in movement should be checked. You've your mw or labour triage a call. Chances are you'll get there be hooked up to the monitor and baby will start locking like mad, but they'd always rather see you than not

I had a similar thing around the same time but 100% get it checked. Any change in pattern or movement should be checked out :) xx

I had reduced movements last week between 25+2 and 26 weeks. I was up at the hospital twice and it was really quite reassuring to know little one was okay. It was just as you describe though- she was still moving but her movements were much more gentle and not as frequent. It does seem a common time for them to go through a growth spurt, but you should definitely go up to the hospital anyway Smile

Get checked, but at 25 weeks they can quite easily turn around and kick somewhere you can't feel it as much. Always best to get checked though.
