7 weeks bleeding scare

ps2304 · 31/07/2016 07:38

7 weeks 2 days , have just been to the loo this am and had a bit blood when I wiped. What do I do???? Freaking out. The first bit was red then I checked inside and it seemed darker. Not in any pain or anything. Is this to come? Sad

Bleeding doesn't te you much by itself. It could be bad news, or it could be nothing. (I had bleeding at 6/7 weeks with my last pregnancy and it was fine.)

Do you know if you can self-refer to your local Early Pregnancy Unit? They can often give advice over the phone, or call you in for a scan if that's needed.

It's impossible to know. Some people bleed when pregnant without miscarrying (And I did with both my dds) but it obviously isn't a good sign.

At 7+2 they should be able to see a heartbeat on a scan if all is well, but obviously it is unlikely that you will be able to be seen till tomorrow at he earliest.

Really horrible shock to find blood when pregnant Sad

I have had two separate bleeding incidents with my current pregnancy. Now 22+3 with a perfectly healthy baby girl.

It's very worrying though. I was told to wait 24 hours and if still bleeding or started passing enough blood to soak a pad to ring the EPU back. It had stopped by lunchtime.

The second time it was upon wiping and then not much else. They said it was probably due to the cervix changing. I was offered to go in that time but declined unless I had anymore bleeding or cramping.

Ring your EPU. Let them be the one who guides you. Flowers

Have you recently had sex? Within the last 72 hours? I had a bleed at 12 weeks and it was put done to a softer cervix and sex so caused a small bleed. Frightening for me. But a scan showed all ok.

No sex this week. Have phoned EPU and booked for Tuesday at 9.30am. Not feeling positive as sickness has gone today Sad

Sending strength op. I've had 3 bleeds in this pg so far (now 14weeks) and 2 reassurance scans at EPU. It's maddening and there's no way of knowing until you know. Nature is cruel sometimes. Take care of yourself Flowers

Hi op i had a bleed friday... as though my period had come. Epu told me if theres no clots and it's not very heavy then probably not much to worry about. Ive got a scan tomorrow to check it out. Try not to worry. If something's happened then there's nothing anyone can do.

Hi OP I had a bleed at 7wks3days and went to the EPAU. They did a scan and it turned out to be a break through/implantation bleed.

Once you've had the scan it will hopefully put your mind at ease. I know how scary it is. They also say you can bleed a little when your period would've been due.

Good luck for Tuesday, hope all is well.

It was only when I wiped myself but yes was bright red which prompted me to freak out and go to A&E in the worse state ever. I'm 9 weeks now and no more bleeding.
They said only to worry if u have loads of bleeding and really bad period cramps

I wouldn't stress too much about the colour. Any bleed has to have been fresh at some point. I bled for weeks with both my pregnancies, had red, pink, brown, prune juice everything. Dd1 it was 5 to 11 weeks, dd2 6 to 10 and then again at 25. Conversely I've read lots of cases on here where a bit of brown blood has been a miscarriage.

Of course you're stressed what a daft thing to say. I mean don't place too much significance to it.

Hiya - I've experienced this both with miscarriage and a healthy pregnancy. Don't forget at 7 weeks the embryo and placenta are 'bedding in' to the uterus and vili invade the wall which has the blood supply to feed the baby. It could just be this. At 12 weeks, with my first child I bled at 12 weeks, massive clots and heavy bleeding and she was fine, also had early bleeding with her too. Try to stay calm and wait for your scan at the early pregnancy unit

Neon rainbow how did you scan go?

Hey op it went well thank you... they say it was an implantation bleed and on the scan it showed up an area of blood sitting above baby but cervix is closed and we saw heartbeats and movement. Good luck op.

Great news! Was it an internal scan?

At 7+2 they will abdo scan first and what they can see depends on the position/ your shape. I had an abdo scan at 6+5 with dd2 that was clear and showed heartbeat etc.

Report
neonrainbow · 01/08/2016 20:18

No it was an abdo scan op.

It was all good news! Said everything looked normal and bleeding just was probably from burrowing in.
Still a few weeks to go until into the safer weeks but daring to feel slightly more positive! Got a photo of our little blob, can't even work out where its head is!!
