Is my baby pink or blue?

Hi everyone,

I am new here and wondered if anyone could tell what gender my baby is on my 13 week scan? I have a private scan booked in a few weeks but am feeling rather impatient!

Thanks

Blue baby syndrome can affect both sexes.

Have they offered you more detailed scans at a specialist cardiac centre? It sounds as if you should be pushing for one (sorry, I think I'm a bit out of date about how frequently they scan when a heart defect is suspected)

Flowers

It's a very worrying time when they first notice something that can be astray. But blue babies can and do survive.

All babies are pink!

Hopefully pink. Blue is always worrying. Good luck.

I'm no expert, but I would say you can't tell from those pictures. They move the stick thing (I'm sure there is a proper name) around to get a good view of the baby from every angle.

Blue or pink? Jesus, it's 2016.

Whatis I don't think it's Jesus...it could be a very naughty boy though...

It looks like a boy.

Maybe it identifies as both eyebrows, or even neither?

Hun, get thee to NetMums.

Interestingly I used to work with scientists who were testing pregnant sheep and one of them was able to sex my baby from my 12 week scan from this position of his urethra 🤓

Edith that's pretty poor taste, you fucking knew what the OP meant.

There's a website called InGender where people are pretty good at guessing the sex from 12 weeks scans.
MN isn't always the best place to say things like "pink or blue" or use the word gender rather than sex. Sorry you're getting a rough time for it. All the best for your pregnancy.

Wow some harsh replies :-/ I've no idea but congratulations and good luck, pink, blue, boy, girl whatever lol xx

Sorry OP! I think it's too early to tell though. Congratulations on your baby! Smile

Fucking hell - MN is turning into such a shitshow. Congratulations on your pregnancy OP, I'm sorry that your post wasn't to everyone's taste, unfortunately there's an unwritten rule that you have to come across "the right way" in order to get any nice or even halfway decent responses.

It's a really exciting time for you - hope you enjoy every minute.

Sad bastards who feel the need to attack this lady - get off mumsnet, get laid/do some exercise/meditate - whatever relieves your pent-up aggression so you don't have to hide behind usernames attacking like this. Sad and pathetic.

No need to be so nasty !!! It's obvious what the OP meant !!! No idea myself OP but all the best for your pregnancy, it's such a special time Flowers

What a welcome for the poor OP!

Sorry you've had some nasty replies.

I'm afraid I haven't a clue about the sex of your baby, I know nothing about reading scan pictures, but congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

In Edith's defence, I think she simply got the wrong end of the stick, and didn't see the word 'gender'. Her response was too clearly thought-out and detailed to be intentionally offensive. (done of the other responses are harsh though!)

Wow!! Some of you really need to make sure you never visit the ante-natal clubs board, with the lists of Team yellow, blue and pink...I can't imagine how offended you'd be! Hmm

Jenny - Don't pay any attention to the people here who just want to stir up shit for the sake of it!Have a look at the ante-natal boards, everyone is lovely. I'm team pink!! Good luck with your pregnancy x
