Pregnant after 3 miscarriages

Hi all, really hoping for some good news stories as I'm feeling quite anxious at the moment. I'm currently 6w+3 and getting an early scan on Wednesday. Last year I had 3 unexplained miscarriages all between 5 and 7 weeks. I've had all the NHS testing done and all results have come back clear. The consultant has put me on high dose folic acid and progesterone twice a day.

Anyone else been in a similar position but with a happy ending?? Xx

Come and join us on the 'staying positive after miscarriage' thread. We've all had very different experiences but we are Lloyd very supportive. Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

I'm currently 27+5 with my first after 4 consecutive miscarriages. So I know exactly how worried you are. Just try to stay positive and look after yourself.
You probably won't relax much at all until you have that baby in your arms but each week that passes your little one will get stronger and stronger.
I had regular scan at my local EPU, every 2 weeks from 6-12 weeks. Kept me sane seeing the little heartbeat.
Try not to focus too much on symptoms as it will drive you insane. My specialist said that he's seen many women go on to be successful with no symptoms and equally seen a lot of heartache with women who have every symptom under the sun. So try to just focus on each day. I found meditation helped. Good luck on Wednesday. Will keep everything crossed for you

I had 3misscarriages last year, and like you all my tests came back clear, and I got put progesterone twice daily until 12weeks then asprin from 12-20weeks, I now have 10days left until my due date and I have had a lovely pregnancy Smile I was so anxious at first and went for an early scan and the moment I saw my baby's heartbeat was amazing, good luck and I hope my story has given you some positivity x

Just here for some hand holding as well. I had three miscarriages, two of them ectopic pregnancies and am pregnant again now 5w+3. I am so anxious and nervous. Keep thinking every twitch I am feeling means something. Had an early scan today and have to have another in 10 days. Try to keep calm and relax (difficult I know) and try to stay away from Dr Google. Flowers

I'm also 6w+3 today after 3 unexplained miscarriages! What a co-incidence. All my NHS tests came back clear as well so we're still stumped but I haven't been offered an early scan or any extra medicines - I think we'll pay for an early one rather than face the long wait to the 12 week mark!

Anyway, I can't offer any helpful advice - just a bit of handholding from someone in the same boat! Fingers crossed it's 4th time lucky x

Thank you so much for sharing your stories and support, it's really kind and reassuring to hear some happy news stories. It's made me a bit teary this morning Smile Thank you also for the good advice. Mrsmushrooms- that is funny that we're in the same boat! Do you have an early pregnancy unit where you are? The one in Manchester is great, if you have a history of recurrent miscarriages they will book you in for an early scan.

M33r- so sorry about your miscarriage, it's the most heartbreaking thing, best of luck for this pregnancy

Seekingmircles & weloveyoutothemoon I'm so happy for you both, really lovely to hear stories with happy endings. That has made me feel much more positive, thank you. Weloveyoutothemoon did the consultant say why they had put you on aspirin from 12 weeks?

JcleRoux sounds like we're in a similar boat too, it's hard not to keep thinking about everything. I'm trying acupuncture this time as read about some people finding it helpful...it does seem to be relaxing me a bit?! Yes dr Google is not our friend!!

Whatsername17 thank you! I'll go and have a look at the thread!

Good luck everyone and thank you again for taking the time to reply. Hopefully I'll have a good scan tomorrow and that we calm me down a bit xxx

No they just said they would give it a try as a precaution, and it seemed to work! All the best for your pregnancy x

When you go for your scan ask about progesterone supplements - it's prescribed quite often when no known cause is found. It helps support the pregnancy until the placenta is strong enough to take over. I was on it until 16 weeks ( I was on a lot of other drugs - but that's because they did find a reason for mine).
Aspirin helps keep your blood thin, therefore keeping blood flow through the placenta good. Should be used in a low dose though - 75mg.

I know, such a coincidence! There is an EPU near us but they haven't offered me anything extra (I asked my GP and they basically said there was nothing helpful to offer - strange!). I'm seeing the midwife next week so I'll ask about options then. I've heard the services in Manchester are great though - my parents live in Salford but I'm up in Scotland :)

I had a miscarriage around 2 years ago at approx. 5-6 weeks. I never tried again after that. Now I'm 13 weeks + 3d. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Flowers
