Constant severe bump pain 33 weeks

Baby is moving fine but the past 2 or 3 days I've had worsening bump pain. It doesn't feel like contraction pain it just fee like a constant pain in my stomach. Like sharp and achy. My bump is also rock hard to touch. It's so bad it's stopping me sleeping.

Is this normal? I don't remember anything like this with DS but he is 10.

To further complicate matters my DS had loads of epileptic fits last night so I really don't want to leave him unless completely necessary.

Possibly just growing pains I remember a similar feeling but I would always get it checked. Can you call midwife and tell her. Seems like quite a stressful time for you atm Flowers

i really hope it's just growing pains. Is it usual for them to be this bad? I don't remember anything like this with DS. Mind you, this baby's kicks even seem to be making me jump in pain and I didn't have that with DS either.

Don't know but sounds similar to me and I'm also 33 weeks. Don't remember this stage of pregnancy being so painful last time either. I get the rock hard belly and very painful kicks regularly. I'm working on regular movement meaning all is fine and not worrying (whilst running around after my 2 year old!) If movement was reduced would go in for monitoring...

It seems to ease slightly when I'm up and about and get really bad if I try to sit or lie down at all.

Ickle it's reassuring to know someone else is having the same. (Athough I'm sure you'd rather not)

I've relented and taken some paracetamol and hoping that helps. I have a stinking headache from lack of sleep now too

Glad you've taken some paracetamol- I have hg so already on lots of medication so try and avoid unless absolutely necessary. I get awful insomnia so understand the tiredness. I'm trying to break down time left to be managable 1 week+1 day of work (teacher), then a week on holiday with dh and ds, then only 5 weeks and hopefully summer weather so ds can run around park/garden!

I think with all the kicking its probably just baby making u hurt lol moving around probably moves baby to a different position. As long as no bleeding I wouldn't be too alarmed. I remember having terrible pains that were even in my chest and always thought the worse. If it get to the point where u think this doesn't feel right then I would call mw

Thanks everyone. DS is ok, just really tired the poor lad. Currently having my bedroom plastered so the entire upstairs looks like a bombs hit it which isn't helping matters for either of us I don't think. It's the last room that needs doing before the baby comes though so hopefully after its all done I can start to rest a bit more

Yes could possibly be caused through stress then! Take care. Best of luck with everything

Any pain in abdomen is worth a call to Maternity Triage. How are you op?

I would definitely call maternity unit and arrange to be seen. Just in case.

It's pretty much eased off now. Just a little dull ache. I think he might have been lying right on the outside of my stomach and pulling all my muscles out or something!

I had your type pain at 28wks. It was a severe urine/kidney infection that was bringing on labour, had a weeks stay in hospital and steroids. It's worth getting your urine checked just incase. Good luck.

Thanks Jodie. I had a urine infection at 19 weeks that was like that but it was more cramping and deep inside. This is like on the wall of my stomach, like it feels like the babies bursting through it or something. Also he my urine checked on Tuesday and t was clear.

The pain went for most of the day and suddenly returned at tea time. I lay on the sofa and pulled up my top and DP was shocked as my entire bump was to one side of my body. Nothing on the left at all. And it was really really sore and there was a foot sticking out.

I think it might be the way he's lying

I had this. The midwife said that it was because the baby was all at the front. It seems to come and go but paracetamol helps

Wine wolf I think that's what it was. It isn't bad today. Yesterday the pain was so bad for so long I was about to take myself to A&E but then it stopped just as fast as it started.

I hope you are feeling better now? The heat is no help is it, trying to drink more to prevent it happening again here but results in more weeing and feeling sicker.
