Biding time at work - got an early scan (7-8weeks) this afternoon.....time is dragging, nervous but can't wait.
Hoping to see a heartbeat - I read somewhere if there is a heartbeat at this stage there is something like a 97% chance viability.
What are your experiences of early scans? Bad or good.....

Had early scans with both my successful pregnancies due to miscarriages before...so reassuring to see the little bean and heartbeat!! It really does help in my opinion.

Good luck!x

Thanks excited but keep getting nervous, I'm sure it'll be fine. This is my third pregnancy - I was hoping I'd be all nonchalant this time, but I'm just as bad as my first nearly 8 years ago!!!

Sorry to jump in but just wanted to ask how and where you booked your early scan?! I'm 4 weeks and want to have an early scan (I had a Mmc last year and am a bit worried) but gp wouldn't refer me.
Massive congrats by the way!! Grin

I went to our local babyvision. They do dating scans from 6/7 weeks (think after 7 weeks is better) - cost us £65 (ConfusedConfused) but glad I did. Think prices vary between regions and different companies.
Try googling early scans or 4D scans as a lot of places that do 4D scans do early dating scans too xx

I had an early scan on Monday due to a little bleeding and previous miscarriages. They dated me 5 and a half weeks. I was able to see the little squiggle and the heartbeat. Was an amazing thing to see Grin

I had an early scan at 8 weeks and it only cost me £40, included a large photo print and a DVD recording of the scan with extra pictures on!

Do shop around. That wasn't an offer either (I went back again a while ago for 4D pictures and still had the same prices) and they are the only baby scan place for about an hour's drive in any direction, so they're not trying to price out competition.

@babyash I had my early scan today measured at 7 and a half weeks and there was a heartbeat, I had to have an internal scan as it's early on which was uncomfortable but it was reassuring to know the baby is okay
