Bleeding at 17.6 weeks

At 3:30pm I went to the toilet feeling like I needed a number 2. Nothing happened but when I wiped my front I noticed blood, then noticed blood in my underwear and that it was in the toilet bowl. Had mild period pain which I wouldn't of even took notice of had I not seen the blood.

Rang my local EPU . Midwife said it's quite common in this stage of pregnancy, if the pain got worse or the blood started coming like period blood then to give them a call back and they'd see me. She said it can because because there's such a big ligament being used it can cause pressure and maybe that the baby had moved.

The baby moving make sense. 5 days ago I had a flat stomach. I woke up the other day with a huge stomach. If I didn't see people as often as I did they wouldn't believe how the bump just appeared overnight. And I've often been getting ligament pain when pushing the pram or lifting my dd

Around 7:30pm I stood up and felt a small gush of liquid. I went & checked and I'd bled that much it leaked through my pants.

Sorted myself put and what not and put on a pad. Felt 2 more small gushes later on but they were no where near as large as the first one

I'm going to ring the EPU again tomorrow and go for a scan. I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience of this? And if so was your baby OK?

I've had two miscarriages in the past smd Im just waiting for this period pain to turn into a stabbing pain. Not feeling very positive ATM

At 17 weeks you definitely need to be seen. They should scan you, you need to know where the placenta is.

Oh and yes I had this- it was a praevia. I bled on and off for the rest of my pregnancy. Baby is now 4. X

Thank you for replying. I've woke today with almost a full pad of blood. I'm going to ring the EPU again when DP is back from work ( 12pm )

Will they want to do an internal or will they be able to see what they need from a normal scan?

They should be able to check the position of your placenta from an abdominal scan. Did they say where your placenta was at the 12 week scan?

EPU said because it was just one full pad in about 6 hours ( when I was asleep ) that its nothing to worry about, she told me to male an appointment with my midwife but fortunately I'm seeing her tomorrow anyway.

The bleeding has nearly stopped now, its just the odd bit when I wipe. I routed out my old Doppler, can hear the placenta and baby so I know their OK for now.

I can't help but feel a bit fobbed off by EPU but then again if they thought it was serious they'd have me in asap so its good news really.

Just feeling tired and worn out now. I love being pregnant but I hate how it makes me worry

I'm OK, there's still when I wipe but not been any more gushes. I've started feeling baby move more now and its only 10 days till my 20 week scan.
I'm surprised they didn't want to check us over too but its a good sign for us x

I've had bleeding for 3 days not loads but it's red I'm 5.4 weeks pregnant I went to the early pregnancy unit and was told I have erosion on my cervix had blood tests and my hormone level came back at 544 is that normal really scared
