When did your morning sickness start?

Princessnthepea86 · 10/07/2016 20:46

So I know I shouldn't be moaning but I'm worried. With my first pregnancy I didn't get sick at all and then at 8 weeks I had a mc. Second pregnancy I got really sick from 5 weeks until 25 weeks, third pregnancy I had sickness from 5 weeks until 17 weeks, forth child I had sickness from 5 weeks until I had another mc at 20 weeks and finally my last baby I remember distinctly getting sickness from 5+2 and I had it all the way through. This time I am now 5+3 and I have nothing. I know it can be normal but I'm totally freaking out because in my case it's always been a sign of mc. Can anyone ease my mind? Thanks Smile

I've only been pregnant the once, but had no morning sickness at all, All I got was sore boobs on and off from around 8 weeks and also wanted to sleep a lot. My DD is now 13 months, hope that helps.

Thank you! I really don't have any symptoms at all. I mean, I'm having regular headaches but not much more than usual and my boobs don't hurt either. The only things I have noticed are the fact that I'm super emotional and feel bloated. Usually I'm super sick with every symptom under the sun. I have never wished myself sick soooo badly! Xx

I didn't get any of my symptoms until around 8 weeks. I know what you mean about wishing for sickness though:)

I was very sick with my DS from about 6 weeks but am currently 37 weeks pregnant and didn't have any symptoms with this pregnancy (apart from tiredness) until I started with morning sickness in third trimester! Try not to worry ( easier said than done) as pregnancies can be so different. Hope it all goes well for you OP.

Thank you!! I hope it's all okay in there. I have an early scan booked for 25th of this month. I will be a nervous wreck unless I get sickness before then. I'm trying to calm myself down and these replies have definitely helped so thank you! xx

I've only been pregnant once and didn't get morning sickness at all. I did get travel sick towards the end of the pregnancy, which I never normally do, but that was it.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I am sorry about your previous losses; I think miscarriages cause so much worry in subsequent pregnancies.

Pregnancy one: no ms and ended in mmc
Pregnancy two: mild ms from 5+5
Pregnancy three: no ms

I have been pregnant twice, both ending with healthy babies. I had no symptoms either time.

Thank you all! This really is making me feel so much better... I think now in being a bit premature with the worrying. I'm not going to lie, by the time I am 6 weeks or just over I would like to be feeling something, but I'm not going to worry until then. Wow I would just love it if everything was ok and I had no sickness ShockSmileGrin

Hi! Just an update. I had a scan in Wednesday and although I know I was 5+6 they said I was 5 weeks and could only see a sac plus yolk sac. I'm not thrilled because now I'm worried with the lack of sickness if it has anything to do with the lack of progression/measuring smaller than I should be. The hospital nurse didn't seem to alarmed and booked me another scan for 20th. By then hopefully I should see a heartbeat. I guess I will wait and see what happens at that appointment.

I do now have some nausea... But it's so slight.... I was super super sick with my other kids. I really hope it's just a totally different experience and all is well! X

I've been so paranoid on and off this time around, as symptoms are different to my last 2 pregnancies. All 3 of mine have been very different though -

With DD I was sick a couple of times a day until labour, had really sore breasts from the word go, metallic taste etc. symptoms were unpleasant but manageable. Had SPD from about half way through.

With my son I was violently sick from 6 weeks and in and out of hospital with HG. No breast soreness (but I was still bf'ing DD at the time) and awful SPD from early on. My baby was very poorly though, and we lost him at 17 weeks.

This time, I'm almost 12 weeks, and I've got faily constant nausea and the metallic taste but I've only had 2 vomiting episodes in all this time. The tiredness is worse than anything. My breasts ache occasionally and I have no sign of SPD (yet).

I'm not taking the lack of sickness as a bad sign, we've had 2 early scans and all seems to be going well so far. I had the worst sickness last time, thinking it was a good sign, but it didn't end well. If I had a similar preganancy to my last one, I'd be really worried now.

We were a little concerned following our scan at 6+5 as we were quite sure of our dates (ov'd on time or early, but def not late) and they dated me at only 5+6. Went back at what then should have been 9+5 and they bumped us forward to 10+5!!! Good luck x

With both I was panicking at week 6 as I had no sickness and by week 8 I was throwing up 8-12 times a day.

Having kittens- sorry to hear about your son! When I lost my son at 20 weeks I was super sick up until I lost him, I think that's also another reason I worry about no sickness -for me personally- the only time I have had no sickness or sickness as stopped totally was when I miscarried. We lost him due to a cord accident/septal heart defect, so the sickness for me wouldnt be a indicator of anything being wrong (luckily because I'm paranoid enough lol). Each of my pregnancies have also been very different also, but they have all had horrible sickness from roughly 5.5 weeks onwards.

I have heard that before 12 weeks that baby can be behind by 2 weeks and can play catchup so I'm really really hoping that, that is the case for me also! I mean, if I'm just going to have an easy pregnancy then that's great but as horrible as morning sickness is, I love that reassurance (although I don't say that when I'm sleeping beside the toilet crying my eyes out like a baby all night) haha.

Jasper- oh no! As long as everything is healthy I get the district feeling I will probably be getting the same thing. I will probably get it so bad to make up for the mild sickness I am having right now lol x

Sorry for your loss also. Our son had a massive septated cystic hygroma which was suffocating him. We're having extra scans to keep an eye on this baby's fluid. We have our actual dating scan next week, and I'm hoping, if it's good news, my nerves will settle and I can relax a bit.

I go through phases of wishing my sickness would go up a gear, just for reassurance, and then when I am feeling particularly rough or have a major puking session (had another since I last posted Sad) I'm regretting not just enjoying the nausea coming in waves, and having some let-up.

I don't think we'll stop worrying that everything's okay until our babies are in our arms, especially after the heartbreak we've suffered, which is understandable Flowers

Oh havingkittens that's so sad. It's an awful thing to go through, and like you said after what we have gone through I doubt there is much that would make us feel a whole leg better either way, until they are in our arms!

Good and bad news! I'm officially feeling very sick constantly now. Blurgh. I'm really pleased but I did (as always) forget how bad it is! I rocked myself to sleep last night and feel asleep with chewing gum in my mouth as it's the only thing that helps slightly!

Good luck at your dating scan, I hope all is well and it helps you relax a little more. I have my scan Wednesday and I'm praying to see a heartbeat!!! 🙌

Ahh, the amount of times I almost drowned while pg with DD.... A warm bath in our massive, luxurious (deep) bathtub in our old house was the only thing that relaxed me whilst suffering with HG. A number of times I got so relaxed I fell asleep in there, neck deep in water! Shock Blush

DH started checking up on me regularly after the first time Wink perhaps yours can fish around in your mouth after you've dozed off?! just in case? On second thoughts, eugh...

Keep us posted x

Hey havingkittens how are things going? I had my scan today and everything looks great!! Baby has a heartbeat and everything. I am so so happy! I started spotting again last Friday night and still have no symptoms so I was preparing for the worst and told the doctor that when I went in for my scan. Phew! I'm thrilled, just not really sick this time! It's amazing. I'm measuring 6+3 although I'm fairly certain I should be 6+6 but baby could still catch up some more. I mean, last week they told me I was only just 5 weeks or under... So there has already been a huge catchup! Yay.

Good luck for tomorrow. Let me know how it goes! Xx

That's wonderful news, so pleased for you! Flowers

I've been horrendously sick again today, had to leave work early, but popped on here to see how your scan went Grin

I'm hoping the sickness is due to anxiety about my scan tomorrow and the unbearable heat, and not the beginnings of HG Shock

I wouldn't worry too much about the measurements. It's a fantastic sign that you're closer to where you should be. According to my recent dates the egg would have been fertilised 2 days before we dtd Confused The smallest mis-measurement (?) can make a big difference. My last scan showed 3 different measurements, so 3 different gestations, on all 3 photos, so my consultant just took the average Wink

My sister bled quite a lot at 6 weeks with her DD, then again about half way through. She was terrified after a previous miscarriage at 6 weeks but her DD is now a gorgeous 18 month old Smile x

Oh no! That's awful... I hope it's a case of nerves and the heat and NOT HG!! The heat really is unbearable right now isn't it? I can't even think straight like this.

It's good to know about the dates all being a bit off, I have this awful fear or them dating me far later than what I am and then I would be worrying towards the end of myself pregnancy about the placenta giving up (yes I'm slightly neurotic) haha.

My sister has also had bleeding with both of her pregnancies actually, quite a lot in the beginning 12 weeks and both times every turned out fine also, and with today's news I am feeling a lot more optimistic. I started thinking best case scenario, perhaps a haematoma, but nope! :)

I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine tomorrow but I will keep my fingers crossed for you though. Let me know! Hopefully it's in the morning so you don't have to wait around all day anxious! Xx

Bumbleclat - it's an amazing feeling when it's starts to go isn't it? I have to admit since my scan this morning I have felt particularly gross and pukey but luckily still nowhere near as bad as I used to feel with other pregnancies! Xx
