Pregnancy

Pain and discharge. Worrying myself.

A few months back in my pregnancy I had really bad thrush and was treated for it. Since then though, I've been wearing pantyliners and have noticed a yellow/brownish watery discharge on a daily basis. I've had this maybe for about a month now. I no longer have itching or burning but I've been suffering with an agonising indescribable ache in between my legs and around my bum cheeks, feels like my vag and the whole area has taken a beating. It aches to do even the simplest of things, like getting out of bed or changing my underwear and I can barely walk. I've been told by people this pain is something called spd and is a common condition in pregnancy and that's it's nothing to worry about, just unfortunately very uncomfortable and at first I didn't worry about the discharge, as people said it's the body clearing out old blood etc. from the uterus. As the discharge hasn't cleared though, I'm starting to worry that maybe something else is going on and that maybe the pain and discharge are related.

I don't have an STI and I'm 27 weeks. Has anyone else had this in their pregnancy?

I know increased vaginal discharge can be normal in pregnancy, however it's described as a clear or white discharge, not a yellow/brown colour.

Pain with getting out of bed does sound like SPD, however I think the discharge is unrelated. Yellow could be thrush again - get swabbed to check, but brown discharge you should deff get checked out, that doesn't sound normal.

Call your midwife and ask for physio referral, and get the discharge checked over ASAP.

It sounds like SPD. The discharge is totally normal.

For SPD try the chiropractor or a private Physio. NHS Physio will only give you exercises and nothing hands on. A (good) private will do massage and sort your pelvis out.

Discharge needs to be assessed by a health care professional, it's not always normal, but may be something easy to treat, like a very severe thrush infection. Either way we can't tell over the Internet. www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/brown-discharge/

NHS will do hands on physio for SPD, at least they do where I live.
