Help!! I'm only 16 and I think I might be pregnant but haven't missed a period yet. Had loads of other symptoms like tender boobs, feeling sick and tired etc and I'm only 16! My period is due in 3 days, should I take a test now and how do I tell my parents?!

Stop panicking, take a test, go to your gp and have one done you don't need mums permission and its confidential and talk to your doctor about contraception and practice safe sex.

Lots of those symptoms are pre-menstrual. The days before a period are very easily mistaken for early pregnancy symptoms, especially if (?) you haven't been pregnant before. So I wouldn't worry too much.

You can take a test now, and chances are you will get a positive result if you are pregnant. But if you get a negative result, it won't be definitive. Wait until the day your period is due before taking another - it will be more accurate then.

You don't need to worry about telling your parents until you know whether or not you are pregnant. I don't know how your parents will feel, but these things happen and if you are pregnant you will need lots of support. If your parents are halfway reasonable people, then however they may feel about it, they will ultimately recognise this. Honesty is the best policy. You haven't done anything wrong.

Good luck.

Hold on a minute - is there a reason to believe you might be pregnant? Have you had unprotected sex?

Wait for your period to arrive.
If it does not, do a test.
If it's positive, you have major decisions to make.

If it's negative and your period still does not arrive, repeat the test after a week.

If it's still negative, heave a sigh of relief, and get yourself to your GP or Family Planning Clinic as a matter of urgency and sort some reliable form of contraception out before you have unprotected sex. Unless you want to be pregnant?
I hope you get the result you want, but FGS sort out your contraception!

So you've had un protected sex?

Wait to see if your period arrives if it doesn't then take a test ( I think you can even get them in Poundland if you don't have a lot of money)

If it's positive you need to see the GP and they will talk over all the options you have.

As you've had in protected sex really you need to see a GP or go to a sexual health clinic for a STI test, as far as I know your parents will not find out as you are 16.
If not pregnant please talk to your GP about the pill or another form of contraception again because your 16 I don't think they will tell your parents.

Just go to Drs to put your mind at rest, if you're not pregnant take this as a stern warning and insist he wears a condom next time.
