When to go to hospital

I've been having what I think are contractions for around an hour now. They last about a minute and are coming every 7-10 mins.

The contractions aren't very strong. Just feel like mild period pains.

Waters still in tact but ive had two shows last few days.

When should I call triage? I think they said when contractions are every 5 mins lasting 1.30-2mins.

That sounds about right.

If there's no hope of sleep, you could try a nice warm bath?

Thanks lovely. Had a bath a short while ago :) they're bearable. Do you think I should try to sleep? I'm a bit worried they'll stop if I lie down.

With number two, I got comfy in bed and read and entire novel while waiting for them to hit five minutes. They just slowly gathered speed. (Similar with the other two but not quite so extreme Smile) So, IME, they don't stop if you lay down.

And if you can get some sleep, you might be glad later.

Thanks ladies. currently on the sofa wrapped up in blankets. Will try to sleep if i can. I'm pretty sure they're contractions as they ease off.

Should I time them now or just wait until they get stronger?

Rest now. Absolutely put your phone away and rest while you can. You'll need your energy.

Start timing when they feel stronger, longer and very regular. Good luck!

Thanks all. I've just woken up again they're getting a bit intense now. I've also had more blood (very pale pink) this is third day in a row now do you think it's still a show?

Sounds like it. I stayed at home after my waters broke until I couldn't take the pain anymore.

At my antenatal classes the mw said if you're having 3 contractions in 10 minutes, you can't talk through a contraction anymore or you're really struggling with the pain and need some support. X
