So confused... MC or still a chance?!

We've been ttc #2 for 2.5 years and I've had 3 chemicals this year so far. I found out I was pregnant again last Wed, with really strong positives but on Tues night I started with intense cramps and bright red bleeding. I thought it was over again.

However, the cramps only lasted a couple of hours and although bright red the bleeding was only slight and didn't fill a pad. I've had slight brown discharge when wiping today, but again have not had to use a pad. I've just done a pregnancy test and an ovulation test (all I had in!) and have got positives on both. Am I still in with a chance or is it just taking longer to lose it? Such bad timing, I'm due to fly to Spain on Tuesday and really worried now.

So confused... MC or still a chance?!

I would be 5+2 today if still viable...

I don't know if helps but I had 24 hours of bleeding two days after my BFP and I'm now 8 weeks and still pregnant according to tests and no period turning up. I didn't have any cramps though and the blood was brown rather than red. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Thanks Ellie, I'm not sure what I'm expecting posting tbh but my head is just so mixed up and I suppose I was wondering about other similar stories. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I've had 2 miscarriages and 2 healthy pregnancies with bleeding.

I honestly couldn't tell you at the start which was which. If the bleeding has stopped that's really good sign, neither of my miscarriages stopped once the bleeding started.

At this point I guess you're on a wait and see. Pregnancy tests measure the hcg and that does return to 0 until after a miscarriage so won't tell you a great deal. You could see if your doc would referring to a EPU for a scan, but it's unlikely they'd be able to see a heartbeat at 5 weeks, so again you'd just be waiting for a follow up scan in a couple of weeks which would tell you more.

I know you probably can't, but try to relax on your trip.
I wish you lots of luck !

Thanks bebo. They have done hcg bloods this morning but as you said, without a comparative it means nothing and I'm unlikely to get that before go away. I had resigned myself to losing it, I suppose my main concern now is complications while away.

To be honest at 5 weeks it's likely to be more like a super heavy period, so if your trip is a holiday I wouldn't cancel it.
You might as well be miserable in the sunshine.
If the bleeding is stopping it hopefully all ok though.
Will they do a second set of bloods before you go? Is it just the results you won't have first?

I may get the results tomorrow but they have said it is more likely to be Monday. Even if it is tomorrow, they will not be able to do the tests again before Monday so no results before Tuesday at best and we fly at 6am.

My chemical in Feb was at 4+3 and I bled heavily with very bad cramps for 3 weeks afterwards and had to have two lots of medication to stop bleeding. That's why I'm surprised at how light this was!

I miscarried in Dec, found out we were expecting again in Feb. 3 days after my bfp, got some red blood when I went to the loo (when wiping), same again Sunday then Monday I went to loo and lost a load of red blood. Literally fell out like it had been pooling all night. Freaked me out after what had happened a few months before, but I'm now 21 weeks, had no more bleeding and all was/is fine :) Good luck! Hope everything works out well for you xxx

Thanks Wheels, that sounds similar to what's happening here. It's not constant but is almost like it's pooling somewhere, coming out at once then nothing for a while.

Good luck with your pregnancy!

I'm currently 12+3 and fortunate enough not to have experienced bleeding. however, literally hundreds of women on my various pregnancy boards have - a whole range of heavy, light, pink, brown, red, cramps, pains etc etc - and the VAST majority of them have turned out to be absolutely fine.

Unfortunately at such an early stage there isn't anything that can be done to find out for definite before you go away, so there really is nothing you can do but be patient until you get back by which time your body will have decided one way or another and tests/scans can give you a definitive answer. xx

I've had a text from my Drs to say results are back and I need to see a dr. I've tried asking over phone but they said it was a Drs job to tell me. In Jan and Feb they just told me it was negative over the phone. I've got an apt at 3.10 but explained that I may not be able to make it as stuck in work and they just laughed and said I'd have to wait. I'm so angry.

Have you heard anything?

My hcg levels are only 125 and apparently should be in the 1000s now so expecting to fully miscarry over next couple of days. They are repeating the tests on Monday to make sure.

I have a small amount of brown spotting now, but nothing major. Just feel like I'm sat around waiting for it to happen.

They have referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic now so at least that's something I suppose...
