Hi ladies :) I had a sweep yesterday (im now 40+2, 2nd pregnancy), and im now feeling so miserable its horrible! MW said a lot of my show came away and it still is very slowly(discoloured discharge) but ive had no contractions. Only strong braxton hicks. I had one with my first pregnancy and was in labour within 12 hours so i guess im struggling to accept this one isnt the same! I was told there is lots of water around her head and ive already started dilating. Another appointment booked for Monday but she doesnt think I'll need it(does she have to say that?!)Im worrying more because the later it gets, the less chance i have of finding a babysitter. Ive also felt so nauseous ever since the sweep. Has anyone else felt ill after a sweep? Thank you in advance xxx

So much can change in just a few hours. My friend had a sweep last week which the midwife could only just get a finger in for and she went into labour the following evening after getting her show in the morning and having no other signs that anything was happening. I had my sweep on the Wednesday, was 3cm dilated, could stretch to 4cm, waters bulging, had a show and went into labour early hours of Monday morning. Try not to be too disheartened, have you got a ball to bounce on?

I know how you feel Rach ! I had a sweep monday and I am 40 + 2. I had a massive bloody show yesterday early morning and more mucus yesterday afternoon. But nothing else.

Thanks Dixie ! Cheered me up too.

I have been bouncing on my ball, not done much apart from some pelvic pain

Also sympathise on childcare too, my Mum has DS until saturday so I really want to baby out before then, I don't want to have to arrange more childcare after that as all my family live 2.5 hrs away, including my mum. So not really sure what I will do after that x

I had a sweep on Friday morning and the midwife booked me in for another the next week as she could only get a fingertip through the cervix and it was not looking likely that anything was going to happen.
I geared myself up to be induced but I went into labour the next day.
I didn't loose my plug until my contractions started.
I felt really yuck and tearful after my sweep was horrible, felt so sorry for myself !
Fingers crossed for you.

I was having contractions from 430am today but they've stopped. Gutted!! Baby is back to back and I know this could mean a longer labour. Could this be the reason they've stopped? I can now barely walk so I know she's moving down!xx
