38 + 4 chest infection, ELCS in 7 days, worried about early labour!

Went in to triage last night with pain around previous c-section scar, everything was fine other than they said I have a slightly reduced air intake in one of my lungs. I have noticed an audible wheeze these last few days but put it down to a virus. The midwives said it probably is viral but they've given me antibiotics anyway. I'm coughing quite a bit and concerned that excessive coughing could trigger early labour. I feel pretty rotten generally and after the internal examination last night I'm also feeling a bit sore down there :/
I'm a bit worried about the possibility of early labour now that I've had an internal and also coughing loads... Also would they still do an ELCS if I went in to early labour while still ill and on antibiotics?!

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. It's hard enough towards the end of pregnancy without being ill as well.

I don't know the answer to your questions I'm afraid but is there any chance you can ring your midwife/maternity assessment unit and have a chat with them to ease your mind?

Do you have a plan with the hospital if you go into spontaneous labour before your planned c s date? Maybe phone them and see. If you re planned a c s wouldn't it be likely hat if you went into labour that you would go to hospital and have a c section then?

Sorry to hear you re not well. Hope it improves quickly. It s unlikely you ll cough yourself into labour more that your poor pelvic floor will
Take a right challenge and you ll be wrecked. If you're 38 weeks you re full term anyhow so baby will
Be fine and you can express or BF to help them have some
Immunity too.

Apologies for the poorly syntax and grammar - sun shine on screen here

Thanks for the replies. I sort of said if absolutely everything was 100% normal with the baby then I may be willing to labour spontaneously. Although as time goes on I find myself leaning more towards a section whatever happens! I did say this to the midwives last night and they seemed ok with that but didn't confirm anything as such.
