Baby's movements causing nausea/vomiting?

Hi MN!

I'm currently 21+1 and last night, very suddenly around 11pm I felt sick to my stomach and vomited not long after. Woken up this morning and feel nauseous again and hot.

Baby started moving/kicking noticeably around 18 weeks and is generally an active one especially at night, however last night he was moving like nothing I've ever felt! Nonstop and very strong movements! He is moving rather a lot this morning too where he is usually slightly quieter!

I'm in two minds as to whether or not it was the chippy i ate last night (all mother in law was offering!) being a bit dodgy or whether or not it could be that baby's sudden surge of strong movement caused it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any help is much appreciated! Smile

If you were feeling nauseous and hot I think it's more likely to be something you ate/mild bug. Possibly the greasy food isn't sitting well in cramped digestive system? How do you feel now?

Hot haha! I'm thinking the same to be honest a combination of greasy food and heat! It's rather hot in general and I've been having a bit of a mad nesting phase, intensively sorting and cleaning the whole house which has had me working up a sweat! Might just lay down and try to keep cool for a while!

I'd agree with the greasy food making your nauseous/sick - digestive system is smaller, plus heat etc etc.

That said, I remember baby moving really rapidly at about 22+4 and I instantly felt really sick - there could be a connection, but I've not felt it before or since.

Hi there, I'm 24+5 at the moment, have had quite strong movements since 18weeks. If I have a large meal, my little madam seems to love to put the boot in and I've been throwing up as a result 1-2 times a week for the last month. Mentioned it at my last midwife appointment, she said that it's not uncommon for pregnancy hormones to relax the sphincter muscle at the top of your stomach so you are sick more easily than normal. I've been opting for eating little and often so the kicks aren't so uncomfortable, and that really helps. Unfortunately I've got a lot of weddings at the moment, so that means eating late and being unable to resist the lovely food, so have had some embarrassing dashes to the loos Blush
